  1. As above but instead of pacing we use 2m (or whatever the spacing) baton, gives you OCD worthy straight lines! when you've finished a row just use the baton to move the whole row down, guaranteed perfect rows.
  2. sounds/looks like verticillium wilt
  3. reading through the thread im afraid it just seems like you made to many mistakes, severity of lean, woodpecker holes in limb over path, only 3 out of 4 funghi ident, no latin names on trees and only 50% on the questions..... its only human to feel agrieved however sometimes we just need to do better next time. stick with it, seek some feedback and give your own to the tutors but most of all try again
  4. thanks for the advice guys, very much appreciated
  5. hi forum im crown reducing (25%) a 18m robinia this weekend and as ive never worked on this tree i thought it might be prudent to ask for some advice (sensible please!....) as to any quirks or things to look out for on this tree? thanks in advance!
  6. 50 squid then? Ideal for tree marking....
  7. Unsure of where to post this so apologies if this is in the wrong place..... i have a box of 12 Fluorescent (pink and green) cans that i want to sell.... would rather the box of 12 goes together and we can work out postage a quick google puts them between 5-7 ponds each so looking for 60 squids for the lot (excl postage) all are unused ta
  8. I think that if you change your mind on the back of evidence and scientific fact then that's fine, better than entrenching your views even in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary? After all that's what science is?
  9. I'm afraid we get the society we deserve, age of stupid...Yup! This time will be remembered as age of denial, where we swapped our conscience for disposable consumerism.....
  10. Original posting aside, and agreeing that FB has its place, usually to keep all the stupid people arguing with each other, while the rest of us live in relative peace and harmony......there are a lot of good points raised in this thread. Trees of course have there place but until we drastically rethink our approach to all our wild areas we will always see floods like this, and even then we may still see it. Short term politics and entrenched farming/ estate views will of course mop up EU funding and retain the status quo, besides its only the north.....
  11. Top right there is a button, 3 or 4 lines, click it and it gives you an option to subscribe, at least that worked on my iPad!
  12. Great blog, really cool pictures, look forward to future posts.
  13. Getting back on thread was my original point but since being shouted down by the ukippers this has gone from 'standing with you France' to the SS, Mossad via the Falklands, oh and don't forget the political mud slinging......extremist views, no matter the flavour will always find a home when people use tragedy to peddle their own home grown views.
  14. So if people disagree with you their Herbert's ? It doesn't annoy it only highlights the difference between discussion and angry responses
  15. Merely pointing out how compassion can turn to blame which leads to hatred which leads to suffering.....if people could stop at compassion and by the way I mean everyone.....
  16. Oh the irony of the response!
  17. It's amazing how a 'our thoughts are with you' thread turns into a right wing rant fest from people who believe they know the truth and the source of the problem.....respect the thread.....if you want a 'I know how to solve the problem of terrorism' thread, start one.....*****
  18. Bat conservation trust will point you in the right direction, recently did a bats and tree one day course, very good it was too
  19. Load of old countryfile b@ll@cks! Not a word on the amount of subsidies they rake in, the inputs, the over production etc etc, rose tinted bbc tosh! IMHO of course!
  20. I was also in Kos quite recently and saw the same sort of things as you, although we were staying on the other side of the island in Kefalos (very nice and i would recommend!) so only saw it on a day trip to Kos. The media has a lot to answer for and the way they spin it makes me retch, social shaming if you dont automatically beat your chest and gnash your teeth at the wests inability to simply absorb millions of displaced people. irrepsective of the causes (how far back in time do you want/need to go....) the solution is not to simply open the doors, even if we are force fed a diet of tragic images, or i prefer to call them manipulated left wing propoganda images. Spending billions on in country aid and forcing the region to confront the issues is the only way to go, even that by some standards is to far..... show me an image of a tragic immigrant and i'll show you one of an old person in a care home in a puddle of their own piss and **** cos we cant afford basic human care..... anyway life really does suck for a lot of people, unfortunetely we cant help them all
  21. Hi all be grateful if people could recommend a training provider in the south of the country for doing the PTI course. if youve done the course with a particular one and would recommend then that would be great. thanks in advance
  22. That's the spirit ! Acting like a true pro.......never mind as long as your clients happy...
