  1. Looks tidy as well, is the chopping board with the blue wire to tell you the stacked dates so you use them in the right order?
  2. Looking tidy
  3. 200 cm3, not much stock to sell there then?😀
  4. Looks good to me, not like it is a pressure vessel or anything.
  5. Cheeky bas****s I would have laughed at them as well,
  6. Saw my first red squirrel in 56 years in Central Scotland just before Christmas, had to rub my eyes couldn’t believe it. We have a nice wee group of reds at our feeder in Stranraer, but my neighbour told me last week that they saw a grey so today I was zeroing in my air rifle for it in preparation.
  7. Why do you want to jet wash the tree? 😀😀
  8. Just a thought, spud can say if I’m talking nonsense, could the HT lead be breaking down onto the case and to earth via you. Is it worth changing the HT lead?
  9. I like tools and tend to keep a wee eye on what is for sale and prices. In general prices are high as demand is high just now across the whole range of tools. Guess there is a lot of people with time on their hands doing a lot of web searching and spending what would be unspent holiday money.
  10. I store and season in pallet forms as well, one on the floor then 3 sides and a wee bracer across the front. Use about 6 cubes a year and leave them to season for about a year. So got 6 of these forms on the go.
  11. And tasty they are too, ate a few of them when I worked abroad in the dim and distant past.
  12. Sorry just catching up on the thread from last weekend end, looks like ideas are coming on a treat. On the subject of doors, I had to put some very simple slatted partial height doors on the opening of my wood store as the neighbours goats and sometimes their sheep would escape from their field and shelter in the wood store when it was raining, of course not being house trained the place would be a mess. Pesky goats make me smile but they all go on Escape and evasion courses when they are born.
  13. You know normally I would be down all the way from sunny Scotland in a shot but alas due to travel restrictions I’m not allowed to, sorry😀

    Hearth

I think my black slate hearth sits below room temperature as it draws the cold air across it and into the fire. In my non professional opinion you would have to go some to get your hearth up to 100 deg C plus it would also need a guard round it to stop it being accidentally touched, mmmm unlikely.
  15. I got a Wadkin planer thicknesser a couple of years ago, I had problems with my in feed as well, stripped it down which wasn’t too technical and found that the fingers that stop the wood getting pulled backwards were gummed up and seized solid. I gave them a good soak and wash in a diesel petrol mix and it appeared to work a treat. Heavy lumps of kit, sure we reckoned it was about 400kg, I put mine on a dolly so I could move it about.
  16. I have posted this picture of mine on this forum before. It is made out of an old sleeper and some old fence posts. It doesn’t look this good now as it now carries a few battle scars, but still works well.
  17. I can supply you a few acres of rhododendrons, free of charge, mature, just come and pick your own and bring a couple of artics, evergreen, great firewood, come on you know you want to, I will even through in lunch for you😀
  18. When you say only 2 phases are reaching your site, is this a remote site with a transformer on a pole. If so it is probably an 11kV 2 phase to 240V transformer, so at your service head ( the bit where the cable terminates in your property there will be just one service fuse and one meter, giving you only one usable phase. Of course having not seen your place you maybe do have two phases and two meters.
  19. We found a dead fox lying on our grass through the week, frozen solid, on closer examination it had a broken back leg, probably hit by a car, looked in good condition apart from that.

    ArbDogs? Pics!

Fantastic, I hate hearing about poorly dogs, they are so much part of the family yet even more worrying because they can’t tell you what is wrong. Just so pleased to hear yours is on the mend. Over the past week I have started limping due to an old knee injury, my dog has also started limping, don’t know if she is just taking the piss or what😀
  21. I always pour whisky on my lawn as it comes up half cut.
  22. I think they will use a Privet investigator to check it out.
  23. Wonder if they used a fence to move the hedge on.
  24. To add to your list: A map to get to Biffins Bridge
