  1. Right on brother! ?
  2. The most amusing or annoying bit depending on current mood is when you say leave any packaging out on the next delivery day and we’ll reuse it meaning the veg box, egg box we delivered etc and instead you get a load of plastic trays from the supermarket beans from Kenya, strawberries from Spain and potatoes from fucking Egypt! Only a few days they were telling you “oh yeah, we really want to cut down packaging/food miles/emissions/waste” ultimately wether its food, wood or anything else the majority of the public what the cheapest and most convenient option to them, right then and don’t give a shit about the implications.
  3. Very true, we’ve got a small veg box scheme and after many comments about 10 years ago had to start lining the boxes with newspaper to stop the odd bit of soil from a potato or carrot coming into contact with the housewives worktop. We sell everything loose, or in a paper bag if absolutely needed. We are very small. The big box schemes all use plastic wrapping.
  4. Looks exactly like my turkey necking device...now it can also have a use through the summer!

    Look out!

My last one went to get cash for a tractor, tbh the way people drive these days I don’t miss it. Also I was occasionally a bit of a twat myself on the bike and couldn’t afford to be not working if things went wrong. Once they started putting lap timers on bikes it was getting silly! Miss the crack and camaraderie massively but can’t go to the racing or rally in a car really!
  6. Mix of things. Price (as usual) known quantity dealer 20 miles away, same yanmar engine as I’m used to. If I wasn’t scared of finance and knew anyone who had one I’d have gone kobelco sk26 with 4 lines and full rototilt with grab cassette. But don’t think I could justify the £40k, it’s not something I use everyday so doesn’t feel right (something about feeling guilty if I had top spec kit and didn’t use it fully). And tbh if I’d had anymore money I’d be looking at the 6t doosan, awesome bit of kit, perfect in a dump trailer behind a little tractor And only £33k new with 4 lines and hyd hitch as standard. Even had 3yrs 0%. If I didn’t enjoy being married I might of signed up!
  7. look at the other sellers bit and you still get them one is even cheaper but i imagine it must be dodgy, I've taken a risk as amazon will have to refund credit card it doesn't turn up anyway.
  8. Got 13 in stock now, just ordered one..as above will let you know if it turns up/is real etc!
  9. Picked up the new digger today and was pleased it went on the trailer. Like a complete dick I checked all the specs extensively but never even thought about track width compared to the other machines, naively assumes they’d all be the same. Had 40mm to spare in the end!
  10. Had a little kubota 4wd with a rotovator on the back. Paid £2000 for it, used it for 2 years, otherwise laid up and un serviced. Sold it for £2500 when I decided it should go to someone who would treat it a little better. It was bombproof, and I’d highly recommend one but size implements according to hp. Also they are physically tiny so check you can fit on one first!
  11. Proper stores! Nice work.
  12. Do supermarkets buy older fuel from store or something? I’m struggling to see how a town centre supermarket forecourts with say 12-16 pumps which are nearly always busy is not using fresh fuel, when the local shell etc isn’t busy and would have freshest. I’d have thought the little garage will have it sat longer.
  13. I’ve done over a million miles on supermarket fuel without problems, but never heard it was bad before. If anything the throughput of the big ones should keep it fresher than little places and as said they’re not going to risk it not being right.
  14. What’s risky about supermarket fuel? Something I should know?
  15. Popped an airbag on front strut of the Range Rover, was worried it was going to be mega expensive and a pain in the arse as everyone always goes on about them as one of the biggest reasons not to buy a range. Set to last night and there a piece of piss, easier than any other strut or spring I’ve done. 1 hour later and £49+vat for new complete unit sorted!
  16. That’s a good deal, can you use in supermarket fuel station?
  17. They are handy but we had a fuel card solutions one for about 5 years and in the end they were about 3ppl dearer than the pump. Who are you with, is the price competitive?
  18. I've only had one vat inspection in 13 years and they seemed alright. Everything was in order (as it should be anyway) they just went through everything I had in paperwork and data records. Didn't have to claim or repay anything. Can't see what the worry is. As has been said before, if HMRC turn up and you've got three lads working for you full time as out of an industrial unit with 2 vans on the road, all the gear and a fancy pick up and not vat registered then it's not going to go well for you but if you're doing it right how can there be any issues?
  19. that's an awesome looking outfit donnk, whats the train weight with the hiab, eng con attachments etc? Can you drive on normal license or operator?
  20. quick responses today lads!
  21. A friend did this for a bread oven/prep kitchen when he started a bakery at home. 2 x 2 bolted though as a mounting for nailing boards to, 4 x 2 tapered on the top for roofing frame work to give you 2" fall over the width. looked really good..provided its sited level on firm ground. He insulated with rock wool as he clad which i think is worthwhile. I've got a 7.5t fridge body here for parts/tree guards/pipe fiiting storage and did the same for roof only but roof started moving around a bit in the wind so had to put braces inside to hold bolts through better.
  22. Very nice set up
  23. From ringing round I’d definitely second the above, it sounded affordable for me but then you look at all the options and think well if I’m spending 7 for a starter might as well get the next bit and make it 8.5 but if I’m doing that should I just spend 12 and full control but then if I’m borrowing it because I can’t go the extra five I might as well go all in at 15 and have the proper job with full control, buckets, grab, oil at hitch etcThen check myself and think am I really in need of all that and just not bother at all. Must be a nightmare for the retailers as so many options. Almost be better if they packaged it up.. basic with 1 bucket fitted £6, mid way full control 3 buckets £10 all singing and dancing £15k
  24. Worse is how many times you put those receipts through the washing machine in your pockets and think ‘f**k that’s a tenner down the swanny!’
  25. Is that on a digger Conor? Like the look of that myself, any good?
