  1. It's not about insurance for me it's about not wanting money back off the state. I want to and do provide for myself and my family. I'm happy enough to pay my taxes and ni etc. I believe in the safety net. But I don't believe that you should rely on it for too long. It's about what can I do not what can't I do. Work is out there if you want it enough. it's about no being beholden (government )to someone else to provide for me.
  2. I agree on the Europe thing but I do think we should have the choice via referendum as a country. Then live with the outcome whatever it may be.
  3. Exactly 👍 couldn't have said it better my self
  4. I've got 3 old atco mowers like those. A 17 inch a24 and a 30 inch. Only got the 24 working at the minute but it's a hell of a machine eats it's way through whatever you put in front of it. The big one would be worth about £150-200 even not working and the other about £100 I should imagine. Don't scrap them though with some care they will cut for another 40 years!!
  5. I wonder if the waste to energy furnace would take it? Just a thought. It's on whisby road just off the a46
  6. Buy a Honda 4 stroke will last you years.
  7. There is some videos on YouTube of them clearing snow look really good!
  8. What's My mindset? It's that I should look after myself and not rely on the state to feed and cloth and house me!! The state does not owe me a living! I pay my taxes and get support of the police, nhs etc. I want the government to leave me alone because whatever party is in power makes no difference as none of them keep the promises that they made. I can't fix the problems of society, I can only try and help friends and family.
  9. I don't doubt what your saying. And I agree that greed causes arguments, I just don't understand why people worry about it so much.
  10. Did you realise we have only just recently paid off WW1 debts? The point I'm making I think is it makes no difference to me how much money anyone else has I need to look after my family that's all. Everything else does not really matter. If you can house, clothe and feed yourself and family you are not poor. I spent 2 years traveling in South East Asia. That opens your eyes to what poor is. Life is too short to worry about how much someone you don't know has in my opinion.
  11. If they had not been bailed out what do you think the repercussions would have been? For most of us there will always be people better off and worse off than us. The daily mail and co has a lot to answer for!
  12. How much for the 220? I'm after a spare just in case my fs85 decides to stop can't afford to be without a straight shaft brush cutter this year. Back to thread though just seen this on eBay http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/141609403924?nav=SEARCH Fs 85 gearbox head thingy
  13. Why is the 1% to the countries detriment? Without them the country would stop working. They and the bankers are where the tax comes from. Me, you and any other ordinary workers tax would not keep the country going.
  14. They also buy things cheap when recession hits as they can afford to sit on things until it has passed and cash in then.
  15. There's too many people in this country sitting on Their bums doing nowt getting too much money in benefits I think we should be promoting work for all. Not sitting on benefits. It should be a safety net not a lifestyle
  16. I'm not saying you are here to screw the system, it just seems a bit pot and kettle! The immigrants here in lincoln seem on the most part anyway to be hard working probably for not much cash which in the long term does not help anyone I know. I think food for example would be lots more expensive if not for the polish etc, I would not mind paying more but would everyone else? I think there is more wrong with the country than just immigration
  17. I'm sure you said you were from an immigrate family?
  18. Yes maybe. I was thinking of health(NHS) and financial (tax)
  19. That's the same thing
  20. All of the above but the government only controls 2 of these (for most people)
  21. All this boils down to their being too few houses making house prices bonkers. If there were enough homes then most families would not be paying this tax.
  22. I know you can but I thought we were just talking about family homes I may be mistaken
  23. You're right of course it just p******* me off that's all.
  24. That's true as well but we are talking about family homes not business( buy to let etc)
