  1. I'd rather we spent imaginary money on trident than benefit street. We find plenty for that too. Not sure on figures but is trident supposed to be £30 billion? To last 30 years? If so it's a drop in an ocean compared to the welfare state. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  2. The trend may we'll be going up but have they proved it would not have happened anyway? I should add that I'm not against renewable energy etc and we could well be adding to the problem by burning stuff but are we to blame for all of it? I'm not convinced if I'm honest. 3. What's also interesting is that the met office spends millions of pounds and has people with hundreds of years worth of experience between them yet they still can't tell me what tomorrow's weather is going to be with much certainty[emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  4. If the timescales are vast how can we have ruined it in such a short timeframe? That's what does not add up to me. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  5. No I'm saying they they want and will get in most cases the big profits regardless. If people are out of work we end up picking all the slack up not just topping it up. Is it right no it's not but how do you suggest it's changed. Corybn isn't the answer in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  6. I said the same thing a few pages back. All the rise will do is make inflation rise too. It's got to be better that people are in work so the government(us) only have to top them up rather than pay for everything? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  7. It's quite simple businesses are going to either cut staff or cut hours if they are forced to pay higher rates. Either that or put prices up putting inflation up making the higher rate pointless as they will be no better off than before. Not saying I agree with it but in the real world it's what is going to happen Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  8. Better than being out of work completely though surely? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  9. I was talking about from £10 to £12.50 being 25% But either way it's too big a jump and means that everyone currently on for example £10 an hour wants £13.30 so that they have the benefit of the same rise. In theory it could also push a small business into VAT threshold which would then add another 20% to the bill for the consumer that can't reclaim Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  10. If everything else went up to pay this new minimum wage except your business you would either start losing money or go broke. People on minimum wage now are no better off than when it first came in. It's still not really enough but prices have a tendency to move to what people can afford (or not as the case may be) In my opinion a higher minimum will simply have the effect of raising prices across the board. Maybe that's what labour want so that the debt becomes less through inflation? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  11. That's all fine but what happens when everything goes up by 25%? Do you then pay £12.50 an hour? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  12. Ok fair enough not looked at mutleys post. I still can't work out why people care how much anyone else earns? It's not relevant in my opinion as each of us should be self sufficient as much as possible. Paying our bit and living out our lives. For the most part I could not care less what they bicker about in parliament! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  13. Have you been out in the sun too long today? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  14. If corbyns/labours followers spent more time working they would be better off and could stop worrying about how much money mr banker, businessman etc gets paid Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  15. That does not make corybn the right choice by default though Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  16. It's still a frightening amount of money. I just don't see how making it worse will help? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  17. You rely think the government gave him a pay rise? Or was it the company he works for? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  18. It's not been tripled then has it? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  19. I've just found this one [http://www.ukpublicspending.co.uk/uk_national_debt_chart.html[/url] That looks like it's just over doubled since 2009. Why do labour still think spending ever more money will bring it down? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  20. I don't know how true that chart on the last page is but it does not show debt tripling since 2010 Also if they had kept labours spending up how many times would the debt how gone up by now? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  21. That along with paying for labours commitments and bailing the banks (and clearing houses that managed to change garbage loans into grade a ones somehow)that had little to no supervision from the government (read labour but the conservatives get some blame here too) And you have a massive problem inherited Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  22. Why have they had to borrow so much? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  23. I think you do talk some sense but this is bonkers. If I spend too much and then can't pay my mortgage for example soon I will be homeless. Spending billions when we have not paid for the last lot of billions that labour spent would be beyond stupid. Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  24. Speak to someone who knows better but I'm sure you can keep it for google ranking (have it divert to some other name) but also use something easier to type at the same time if that makes sense? Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
  25. Not bad at all. I would be changing the web address though as typing countrysidetreeand gardenseevices.co.uk without making a mistake is difficult on a phone for anyone with fat fingers like me. Edit I got it wrong even when trying hard! Sent from my iPhone using Arbtalk
