  1. I've had 2 tracked chippers, a little TW and a massive arbor eater. Biggest issue for me was weight.
  2. Just keep on believing that.
  3. No, because buildings are more important than trees.
  4. That's it you see, I don't think they should have any decision, unless it's on public parks or whatever, do you think if they didn't exist everyone would immediately chop down every tree on their property? Of course not. It's a nice number I'll grant you, driving round talking down to all and sundry, writing out comical specs for trimming sycamores, birch and willows. If it's on your property you should be able to trim or remove without a clipboard coming out.
  5. Personally I think TOs are completely pointless, people should be able to do what they like with trees on their property. Bunch of bureaucrats clogging up an already complex life. It's a whole little industry of paperwork and meetings and BS. Followed by utterly pointless 1.5 meter reductions. People would still want trees in their garden, and want them retained and trimmed. Do they have TOs in France and Germany and the U.S.?
  6. Thanks for the advice on how to use a chainsaw.
  7. Bad news! How'd you do it?
  8. I've got an 076. Heavy, slow etc. ok for bucking up once in a while. I really should try and sell it to someone for a chainsaw mill. No comparison to the newer saws. The work is hard enough without deliberately seeking a "workout"
  9. 076 is a good laugh, but not at all comparable to a modern saw.
  10. Well I'd leave the 2006 one till you can get a better one for the website.
  11. Nice gear but the lighting is terrible!
  12. Big job John P, no chance of a fire I suppose?
  13. Well said Matty, agree totally. The whole lifting and thinning instead of reducing is a crock.
  14. I was a middle ranking executive in fuel distribution and supply company. I can tell you without equivocation that rigorous checks are in place to ensure that all fuels are turned round quickly, and quality is checked at every point before it gets into the tanks. Actually I was nothing of the sort but you're worrying about nothing.
  15. Probably yes, some of the above, one thing I always do with tools that are going away for an indeterminate period ie big saws or seasonal stuff like hedgecutters is run them completely out of fuel. It seems to work for me. Clients often bring out their saws to me and ask why it won't start, it's always been in the shed for months with a tank of mix. Believe it or not I recommend that they use aspen or similar for their annual log cutting day. For me it would be too pricey day in day out. Ps previous post, bit harsh, apologies.
  16. Very good! At least I thought so.
  17. All good points, however I have saws and hedgecutters over 15 years old. I've only ever used aspen once, on my 088. All the others have always run on petrol station petrol and husky/stihl 2 stroke. Aspen/motomix for me = Emperors new clothes.
  18. Thanks Ian, I've heard of them, I'll have a look.
  19. Great trailer and grab. I'm sure you've been asked before but is that stock or home made?
  20. Meh....
  21. Don't forget the editing, you cut out all the boring bits.
  22. Mucho dramatico!!!! What's wrong with that (apart from the music)
  23. Great work John, what's the thought process behind staged reductions? don't get me wrong I've heard of them I guess in theory it makes sense, but I would say just leave the thing be, or reduce it in one go. Not knocking your work mind. Looks mint.
  24. I'd be very surprised if it isn't robinia pseudoacacia.
