  1. An ivy covered oak stem from today. Horrible. Toppled some big lumps out of it then sliced and diced the lower stem down to fence height. We removed the crown last year as the customer wanted it doing in two stages. [emoji106] Timon.
  2. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] Timon.
  3. Do you have a link? When I looked at them it looked like they would have to be re-stitched. Thanks Timon.
  4. Haha! Classic 🤣🤣🤣 Timon.
  5. Aren't they all in turmoil? [emoji57] Timon.
  6. Treemotion was designed to fit "low slung" so that the waist band is actually round the top half of your backside. Great for branch walking but not so great for hanging a big saw off. I haven't quite got used to wearing it that way as I find any saw bigger than a 150 pulls it down. Wearing it tight around your waist high up can cause the leg loops to bite if not properly adjusted. Also it is best to periodically change the length of the straps that pass through the lower D's as fraying can happen quite quickly resulting in premature retirement. Timon.
  7. Personally, I don't think that Brexit is why the Tories lost ground. Cutting money to the elderly is always going to lose votes (and rightly so IMO) especially when you have the likes of Corbyn promising free money. The Tories (literally) failed to show up at the election campaign. Times have changed, politicians underestimate the importance and influence of live TV debates at their peril. The young voters that Corbyn managed to gather weren't around when The Soviet Union served as a reality check for many who would otherwise have socialist leanings. Now we have the Lily Allen/Charlotte Church/Linda Sarsour generation. I think Corbyn has been very shrewd in how he fought his campaign. God forbid he should ever get elected. We simply don't live in the kind of world where his ideologies or policies would have any real lasting benefit. Timon.
  8. What are their options? Realistically. Timon.
  9. How about the Morris Ital? Legendary British exotica..... Or the Austin 1300 GT.... Timon.
  10. As long as we don't have to start driving British Leyland cars again I think we'll manage somehow.... Timon.
  11. We have fishing grounds! There will be some pretty cheesed off European fishermen when we start to enforce our exclusion zones and work to our own quotas. Not the full deck of cards but it's a start [emoji846] Timon.
  12. Started (properly qualified) climbing at 48. Did all my tickets up to CS41. Getting quicker and more efficient all the time and building confidence. Still got a few years left in the tank. If I had been production climbing for 20 odd years every day it might be a different story. Timon.
  13. A very enlightened post [emoji106] Timon.
  14. Thanks, that's helpful. [emoji106] Timon.
  15. Hi David. I know you're not in this neck of the woods but what's the ballpark figure for a resistograph reading of one tree? Thanks Timon.
  16. Honestly, that is freaky.... Has someone spiked her tea with illegal substances? Mamba or PCP ? Timon.
  17. S'right. Obama pursued more people for the crime of "whistle blowing" than all the previous presidents put together. Then... just before he left office he brought in new legislation to allow freedom of information on an unprecedented scale... Talk about the politics of a chameleon. Timon.

Very down to earth and humble Reg. Thanks for sharing and taking the time. Bet you were glad to have those cedars near by for an anchor. [emoji106] Timon.
  19. Evening Rich. Did the tent survive the wind yesterday? [emoji106] Timon.
  20. And we could blame the death of Welsh anthracite on someone else! [emoji41] Timon.
  21. Good post. Thought provoking. (I still don't believe that God enjoyed giving "those" orders in the Bible far less that the Bible "glorifies" them ) It seems like Islam is having a bit of an identity crisis right now...., [emoji106] Timon.
  22. Very busy here. I've got 15 quotes to do this Saturday. Got another climber with us now as well. Not enough hours in the day. Like Steve says, the silly prices competition seems to have died out now as well. Timon.
  23. I often think to myself...... I wonder what I'd do if I didn't win the lottery......? Timon.
  24. How about ..... I've tried to educate the customer with all of the arguments against topping, but he's still adamant. Do I walk away with my professional integrity intact or do I do the job 'cos I've got wages/bills/tax to pay and a family to feed? Timon.
