    Maybe it’s been like it for a while but today I noticed my 500i was really flopping about and not feeling sturdy at all. It seems to have a lot of play in all the mounts compared to my colleagues much newer model. Especially the one right at the front below the exhaust, I suspect this one may have disintegrated. Has anyone else had trouble with this? Should I buy one of these fallers suspension kits from west coast saw? Or I have read somewhere the ms661 av mounts will fit and are a lot sturdier, but I don’t know if this is true or not. Cheers

    I’m not sure on the difference between the 560/562. I’m quite new to husqys myself so am no expert but I’m quessing it’s just the latest model. My 560 is definitely a better all round forestry saw than my stihl 362 was.

    Husqy 560 18 inch bar is a great all round forestry saw for all the small/medium trees and snedding out the big ones. Stihl 500i on a 25 inch bar for everything else. That is my combo at the moment and to be pair it’s my favorite pairing of saws I’ve ever had.

    Thanks for your advice. Yes the light at the top the the cylinder is the flash of the camera. There is a few very faint scratches on the sides of the low end. But not deep enough to feel with your nail . I will rub it down with 240 and Wd and measure with new rings like you said.

    Evening I’m about to replace the piston and cylinder on my 461. I have been given a used but original cylinder and I’ve ordered a meteor piston and rings. I’m just wondering if this is still in good enough condition to use? I hope these pictures are good enough to see. Also what gasket sealant would people recommend to use when fitting a new cylinder and exhaust gasket? Thanks

    Very true wise words, I did steep ground felling and winching for 5 years. Driving 2-3 hours a day to sites, and now it’s over, life is a doddle. And I’m farming of all things

    I have a few things that I do not need anymore and was hoping to try and sell locally before I stick on eBay. Items located near to Tiverton in Devon. PM me if anything interests you. Stihl ms261 chainsaw-15 and 13 inch bars. It’s 2/3 years old, is tired so I stopped using it as my everyday saw but I use it to cut logs up at home and do hedging stuff for friends etc. It is in full working order. A 261 in bits used as a parts saw. Missing trigger mechanism, front handle and probably random nuts and bolts. But most of the saw is there. Oregon chain breaker and rivet spinner Reel of 22BPX Oregon chain. (.325 fits smaller stihl saws) Was 100ft I don’t think I’ve used half but I will measure this if someone’s interested. Cheers

    As someone lying here now with a broken fibula and tibia after an accident. I would thoroughly recommend getting insurance. I did not. Doing a dangerous job like forestry or arb day in day out, rain or shine, you need a plan in place. One day your brain farts and the near misses everyone has had, could become something alot worse. The thought of 2+ months with no income is not a nice feeling trust me.

    Hi I have a 2014 husky 365 x torq. Is in very good condition other than its exhaust keeps falling off. Has happened a few times now. I think the threads in the bolt holes may be no good. Has not been used in the last 7 months( has been stored and drained properly) and was not used full time before then. Just wondering how much I should list it for on eBay or arb trader? Could also include an 18 Sugi lite bar and 3 or 4 chains with life left on them.

    Thanks for posting. Heading back to van island next week from the mainland. Was going to head to Tofino and Meares island. Port Renfrew is suppose to have the tallest Douglas fir in the world. Did you stop at Cathedral grove on your way to the west coast?

    To be honest brushcutter I should of left more on the little side. I don't think it makes any difference if the second cut is above or below the first, I have definitely used both. Toes cut off because that's the way I've been taught. I used the split level because under the circumstances I needed to load it up and get the cuts in without it going or trapping my saw. Giving me time to get well out the way.

    Cheers bey. I love working in windblow, a big puzzle that has to be unpicked in the correct order. It's nice to have a different sort of challenge other than knocking them over.
