  1. It was my favourite hedge cutting job of the year today. I should of cleared up before I took the after picture
  2. Here is a paper cut I got last year on the risk assessment book. I just turned the page too quickly, just a heads up for you all.
  3. I wanted something that was capable of doing more than the 261. But still able to use for everyday snedding so got in on an 18 inch bar.

    New toy!

So after recently buying a third clutch drum set set for my ms261 I have lost patience with it and have replaced it with something shiny! . This weekend has been an expensive one. Tested it out on some 15" birch and I am very happy with it.
  5. Echo. Have used one for 4 years and couldn't fault it, so I bought my own last Saturday!
  6. Far from it! This is one right outside my house.
  7. I have a 2012 261 on a 15 inch bar and have had from new. Used pretty much full time. I have replaced the needle bearing 3 or 4 times but since replacing the clutch drum have had no problems. That is my only criticism, other than that it has never let me down and handles anything I throw at it.
  8. I would personally avoid both of them because of the loop handle. A bike handle style is much more comfortable for long sessions.
  9. I stand corrected! There are loads of good strimmers out there, I think echo is prob the best bet.
  10. For that budget go for an echo or a Honda. You won't get a stihl for that money. I use a Honda and echo regularly and like them both. The Honda 4 stroke engines are very efficient, easy to start and quiet.
  11. I have a 2012 261 and think its good. It has worked full time for 2 years, I went through a few needle bearings as there was movement in clutch drum. But bought an updated new clutch drum and a metal needle bearing off eBay(non official part) and has run like a dream ever since. I have used a 560 and they are much faster and it probably is the better saw, but the 261 is by no means rubbish.
  12. Thought I would just say hello as this is my first post. Have been browsing arbtalk for over a year and have downloaded the apps, all of which are very useful and have become part of the daily routine! I look forward to contributing to the best forum on the web. Patrick
