  1. Will let you know Treeation. If I can find a trainer that can provide a site then I would prefer that. As it may be a bit of a wait before I move on to a site with suitable windblow. It's good to know your interested as the courses are not regular because of low demand.
  2. Anyone know where I can do a combined cs34/35 course in Devon or Somerset? Doesn't seem to be many about. Or if their are any trainers and assessors that want to run a course, I can potentially provide a site in Devon. Thanks
  3. Thank you Jon and thank you NFG, glad you enjoyed it.
  4. Cheers mark. I stay with the 365 on bigger trees. The pocket rocket comes out for trashing, brashing, small trees and steep banks!
  5. O rite, I suppose you use it as a chair or table at lunch, or it's best use fold it up so u can jump on and catch a lift! Haha
  6. Ye it is a folding butt plate. It's an amazing bit of kit, the Germans know what their doing! Will continue filming bits and bobs and will start another video soon
  7. And yes 365 on 18 and 460 on 20
  8. Cheers guys. Working for a forestry company as a cutter, but on this site alongside a team of utility cutters as well.
  9. Thought I would share my first video with you all. Got inspired by a felling video I watched on arbtalk and thought I would give it a go. So bought a cheap camera on eBay (£35) and waited for a prime day to test it out. So here it is Let me know what you think
  10. Im now working full time as a forestry cutter after 3-4 years of arb and estate and garden ground work. After my first month of cutting my expenses have probably doubled. The first two weeks of work put more wear on my chainsaw trousers than the last year or so of arb work. The brambles, mud and steep banks cause a lot of wear and tear on your boots, trousers, gloves and clothes. My saws are getting worked a lot harder now- more wear on chains, bars, files and time spent on maintenance. Also the wear on my van, I'm not exactly driving up mrs smiths nice tar mac drive anymore. I'm keeping £20 a day for expenses which is probably covering my saws, 2stroke, oil and time spent on maintenance but not enough to cover all my PPE and van. Having said that I don't really care at the moment I'm earning enough to live better than most and I get to spend my days working in the woods doing what I enjoy.
  11. I've been watching the Vikings series recently. Series 3 is on History channel soon. Best thing I have watched in ages, would recommend to anyone if your into your history, bloody fight scenes and Nordic women.
  12. I went for the haix's. I would recommend them, but obviously only time will tell if there worth the money. Its been the comfiest week of work I've ever had.
  13. Well I went for the haix airpower gold in the end. After wearing them for two days the verdict is good so far. Very sturdy, very comfy and not too bulky- almost the same size as my normal steel toe caps. Which is a welcome change to me, as wearing my oregon class 2 boots for the last few years has left me feeling like I've been training to go into space.
  14. The arbotec and the haix boots are both leather and waterproof so I'm still drawn towards them. Radmore don't stock the air streams annoyingly, everyone on here seems to love them
  15. Yeh it's got to be from Radmore as I want to try then on before I buy and they are local to me.
  16. I'm going to buy some new boots this week. They won't be used for climbing, but I want them too be lighter and less bulky than the oregon boots I have been using for 2 years. I've got £170 to spend and no more so I have a choice from Radmore of Arbotec hydrofell £143 Stein explorer £155 Husky technical £158 Stein wolf £168 Haix airpower gold £170 I am naturally drawn to the cheapest and the most expensive... Im going to go and try them on before I buy, but really I need to know which of these boots to avoid? Thanks
  17. I bought a metal needle bearing for my 261 on eBay, and has not broken since. I think it was from mister solutions.
  18. 365 x torq. I bought one a few weeks ago on an 18 and love it. I would cut my bread in the morning with it if I was allowed. This thread seems to have attracted the 365 fan club?
  19. Yeh there is a sticker on chain brake. But it is not one that gives model and year it is a warning sticker.
  20. Haha cheers, ok I will find the real serial number tomorrow. Got given a 029 the other day in pretty much mint condition. Original bar still on it and all words and numbers still perfectly visible. There is still a small sticker on the fuel tank showing you where to put your fuel. Has been sat in a workshop for years, the only sign of wear I can see is the chain and the colour of the saw has faded! 👍
  21. What year would a 029 stihl chainsaw be with number 11270210800? Not sure if this is the serial number though. Can't seem to find it on google. Thanks
