How to remove a fallen tree from a canal?

we removed an Ash a few weeks ago which looked similar we took a small boat with two guys in it stropping the wood and then attaching a winch to it. the boat boys then cut the wood and the guys on land winched it out. It takes a long time but that's how we carried it out and no one drowned!!! -
We are having a clear out in our yard and I have approximately 80 tons of mixed soft wood and other bits. based in Stevenage Hertfordshire free to any one who wants it I can even help with loading give me a call on 01438 726 425:thumbup:

nice find very interesting reading I think we will all look a little closer at trees after this would not want to have my arse dragged through the court like that -
I would drop in and explain you are not bitter about not getting the work but feel that the works that have been done has made the tree unsafe and tell them to make sure that the other contractor is also aware of this. At least then if the tree does fall down into the road and hurt someone your conscience is clear that you have done everything in your power to inform them of all the information

Hi Guys I am thinking of selling our predator P50RX just over 700 hrs remote control so no standing next to the machine when grinding needs a good paint but other than that its all in good working order. What do you all think it might be worth

Yea I was one of the first to use Arbpro 3 years ago it is good takes a bit of getting used to but the new version should be a lot easier to use and looks like it has some realy good functions. Like the last guy said call mark he will give you an on line demo

you are looking at 2 days for 3 men depending on what size van you have 1 or 2 loads of chip and two loads of wood and a good bit of rakings I would charge £1,440 + vat

I was 20 when I went it alien I had 3 years under my belt and every one said I couldn't do it I had 5k behind me and now 14 years on I run a firm of 24 guys and have a good name for myself. I dropped leaflets into people's doors and still have some of these customers now Get a van sign written and do a good job if you want it you will make it! Good luck -
You have to have a waste carriers licence because before you take the arisings to your yard it is classes as waste you do not need to give a ticket to your client under the law at present but this might change. what you don't need is a waste transfer licence because the chip/wood is a saleable commodity (the scratchings you use to heat your yard;) ) it does cost about £150 for three years but if you get stopped with out a licence it is a lot more you must get one ASAP

Border terrier is the arb/ forestry dog I have had two over the years. I don't walk mine he comes to work every day mills around the yard comes to forestry work we do he sits in machines or sleeps in the van best bread for our work! Also amazing with kids
