Did you dispatch the deer in company time and use the company van to move it? Also have you ever had any other disciplinary from the company if not then I wouldn't see this as gross misconduct which is the only way they can sack you without issuing warnings in the past ( are you now looking for a job?)

Most councils want a schedule of rates from you to work by so the prices you put in will be the prices they will hold you to (make sure they have a percentage uplift each year in the contract)

We use the NFU they can tailor an insurance policy to suit your needs but they wont do fleet insurance until you have a least 5 vans (we pay about £8k on fleet for 7 vans)

We pay an employed climber £120 a day and we provided all equipment so I would expect to pay at least £150 a day for a sub-contractor if they provided a topper and climbing kit and all their own PPE
