  1. The Bible doesn't have verse after verse telling Catholics to kill non Catholics. Catholics don't emigrate to other countries and start killing people.
  2. Mark, if someone prints a cartoon of Allah the entire Islamic world goes ballistic and there are protests everywhere, thousands take to the streets of London, hundreds of thousands protest in the likes of Asia. Yet after a terrorist attack there is virtually no condemnation. What does that tell you?
  3. Ohh, someone issued a pdf. That's brilliant proof that "mainstream Muslims" condemn terrorism. Tell you what Mark. Why don't you post some photographs of "mainstream Muslims" going on a protest march to condemn terrorism? If you cant find any does that not prove that "mainstream Muslims" don't really condemn terrorism? Until Muslim terrorism is discussed we're just going to get more and more terrorism deaths.
  4. I've boycotted Muslim businesses for the last 5 years. I no longer go to Muslim takeaway shops or corner shops. When I buy something on ebay I check that the vendor does not have an Islamic name. Until "mainstream Muslims" start condemning terrorist attacks carried out in the name of their religion I will make a point of not giving them money.
  5. We've had over ten years of terrorism in Europe. I'm fed up with being expected to "turn the other cheek" and being expected to get on with life. The time has come to stop Muslims migrating to the West and start locking the suspected extremists up.
  6. ^^ this. we need a "thanks" button on this site.
  7. A quisling (/ˈkwɪzlɪŋ/; Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈkʋɪsˈlɪŋ]) is a term originating from Norway, which is used in Scandinavian languages and in English for a person who collaborates with an enemy occupying force - or more generally as a synonym for traitor.[1][2][3] The word originates from the surname of the Norwegian war-time leader Vidkun Quisling, who headed a domestic Nazi collaborationist regime during the Second World War.
  8. I think we've all got to accept that extremist Islam is at war with the Secular West. I think the big question is if mainstream muslims will side with the extremists or the West... I have to admit I suspect this will be another incident where the mainstream muslim community do very little to condemn the attack.
  9. 19 dead in Manchester, 59 injured, probably thousands traumatised after seeing the fatalities. But yeah, we all know islam is a "religion of peace".
  10. According to Islam, Mohammed married Aisha when she was 6 or 7. The marriage was consummated when she was 9 or 10. Muslims consider Mohammed as the perfect man....
  11. Do you know what irony is? imho out of everyone on Arbtalk it's you that plays the "race/ racist" card the most.
  12. Do you ever read what you post before you press "submit"?
  13. I think you're seeing the tip of the iceberg and not the amount of effort that went into preparing the road widening scheme. Diverting utilities is a nightmare as it involves a lot of sitting round a table with each utility employee trying to defend their utility. Contractors have to spend ages getting utility diversions right because the results of getting it wrong are horrific. If someone dies due to negligence the directors of the Contractor could go to prison. I was working on a motorway at 4am. The Contractor was stripping topsoil from the central reservation of the motorway. Suddenly there was a "whoosh" as the excavator broke a gas valve that was in the central reservation. British Gas were called out and the leak was fixed at about 8am. The Contractor had to pay a fine of £35k for each lane that was not open to the public for each half hour after 6am. ie the Contractor paid a fine of £280k because he broke a valve that was not on any as built drawing...
  14. Well obviously the left wing members of the Labour Party love him. However most people would consider him a liability as a Prime Minister. Corbyn belongs back in the 1970s where his bolshie "I can't get a train seat despite there being dozens of train seats free" attitude belongs. It says a lot about you that you consider him "electable".
  15. Wow! A link to some blog from one of your left wing mates, that's really going to make people vote Labour! Labour bust the country the last time they were in power. If Jeremy got into power he'd bust the country again. You've just got to accept that Labour under Jeremy are unelectable. Forget this general election and concentrate on the next one....
  16. If labour can lose by elections after 7 years of Tory austerity rule it's unlikely that Jeremy will be moving into Downing Street.... The naivety on this thread is strong.
  17. I work with 4 self employed people. I know two employ their wife's in the business.. I never asked the other two if they employ their wife's... I don't know your financial or life story. However you could potentially employ your wife and have a higher family income.
  18. I certainly know a couple of people at work that "employ" their wife through their business. I'm not saying it's right, however it's certainly one way to reduce the tax/ NI a family pay.
  19. I think most self employed people employ their wife. So it realistically means they pay very little NI/ income tax.
  20. I'm presently "self employed", in some weeks I earn the same as I was earning in a month being a salary monkey.
  21. Other countries, like France, have went down the socialist road and given workers a lot of rights etc. it just means that French employers are unlikely to build factories in France and employ the French. I think we all know that the self employed system is getting abused. However if a government tried to stop the abuse a lot of people would become unemployed...
  22. My local city has a clairvoyant that is meant to be brilliant. I've seen her on the telly and seen some good internet reviews of her. I've passed her "shop" a few times and it's always been really busy. I passed her shop today and it was quiet. I took the opportunity to get a reading and it was.... Rubbish.... I could not relate to 90% of what she told me, the 10% that did relate was really vague *sigh* that's £30 I'll never get back. There have been occurrences in my life where things have happened that were a bit spooky, but this certainly wasn't one of them
  23. I think a lot of "self employed" people are effectively employees. However I think the government turns a blind eye as they'd rather people were out working than sitting at home. Let's be honest, if a small company employed someone that was a no hoper it could effectively bust the company. Without "self employment" many small firms could never bring in outside labour.
  24. I nearly forgot, he drives an Audi.
  25. Maybe getting good staff is nearly as hard as getting a good line manager? My present line manager is a bit of a ****. I can ask him a question and he gives me a 5 minute monologue on something not relevant... He also seems to lack the consideration gene, he parks in a disabled parking bay when he's not disabled...
