  1. You posted this in post 2127: "Army didn't defend anybody against terrorism to my knowledge." I've got a family member that's an armed policeman. He tells me the odd tale.... However I can't discuss those things on a public forum... I'm not going to sit back when you talk BS about the Army when soldiers will be risking their life's at this very moment in London.
  2. You don't know what the army does. You were saying it does nothing to protect us from terrorism. Maybe you should put that spade down?
  3. If you don't want people to call you "naive" stop being naive.....
  4. You are naive. You wanted me to post information on the Army's involvement in counter terrorism... You really think I should do that on a public forum?
  5. Are you stupid? Maybe you could stop criticising the Army when they will be on the streets of London at this very minute dealing with three terrorist incidents?
  6. The army have a lot duties that aren't known to the general public....
  7. Van drives into pedestrians on London Bridge. Three occupants of van get out and start stabbing people.
  8. We opened our doors to hundreds of million of people that think £5 an hour is top notch money. Thank Tony Blair.
  9. Socialist ideas always sound nice in theory but don't really work in practice. A nationalised rail industry sounds nice, however it means that international businesses are hesitant about building factories in the UK. A £10 minimum wage sounds nice, however it means employers get rid of employees. Making the rich pay more tax sounds nice, however it means the rich move to other countries. Having a generous welfare state sounds nice, however it means the lazy live from the work of others.
  10. About 50% of adults pay no income tax... The richest 1% pay a quarter of income tax.....
  11. The Government already spends £46 billion a year on interest on UK debt. Do you think it sensible for Labour to increase this amount further?
  12. No one is saying Theresa May is brilliant. However I think she's the best potential leader that we have to run the country. The next 5 years are going to be tough in the UK. We're going to have more terrorist attacks and we're going to have to negotiate with the EU. I just don't think Corbyn is up the task of leading the country.... Let's be honest, Corbyn doesn't even have the respect of most Labour MPs. How many leadership rebellions has he had now? Yet somehow people think he's the messiah and is capable of uniting the country?
  13. IMHO, Corbyn would make Tony Blair look a good Prime Minister. Corbyn would also make Gordon Brown look a financially prudent Prime Minister.
  14. Did you really consider that a "debate"? It was basically 5 politicians ganging up on the Tories and UKIP and a typical BBC biased audience.
  15. Jeremy Corbyn sat two A level exams.... He got two E's.... He's not smart enough to be PM....
  16. Do you not get it? Virtually every single "issue" of concern to the electorate is effected by migration. The problems on the NHS/ schools/ welfare are all made worse by allowing mass immigration into the UK. Terrorism is made worse by immigration as well. We all see public services being cut for Brits due to lack of money. Then somehow we've got free money to look after migrants... Reduce immigration and the quality of life goes up in the UK....
  17. It's the contradictions though. For instance the Green Party want to protect the environment and also have an open door policy. You can have one of those or the other - are the Greens really happy about building houses on green belt to house migrants? Then they want to protect the NHS as well as allowing millions of EU migrants access to it.
  18. Anyone watching the debate? The quality of political leaders seems low...
  19. Healthcare in some of Eastern Europe is actually fairly good... Is it really such a bad idea for the NHS to send patients there for cheaper operations? Regarding immigration. I've seen how immigration reduces wages for British workers...
  20. tbh, I think a privatised health care service is where different companies compete to provide healthcare to the Government. So my colleague would still get his hips replaced from taxpayers money. Maybe for relatively routine operations, like hips, it makes sense for the operations to be undertaken in cheaper countries like East Europe.
  21. tbh, you seem more concerned about someone making a profit than the quality of service the NHS provides. We all know that the "service" the NHS provides is sometimes poor... A guy that I worked with needs two hip replacements as he can barely walk. The NHS has told him it's a 6 month wait... if privatising the NHS reduces waiting times maybe it's a good idea...
  22. Sometimes industries just get set in their ways... Ryanair and Easyjet have brought air travel to the masses. If it wasn't for them air travel would still be outside the reach of normal people. Maybe, just maybe, privatising the NHS would make healthcare better? In industries like food retail Tesco and Sainsbury's compete to bring the best prices and service to customers. If they offer poor service they will go out of business.... While the ethos of a lot of the NHS is "you get what you're given". One of my dad's mates was expected to wait three weeks for a GP's appointment. IMHO privatisation could improve the service the NHS provides...
  23. One minute we're hearing that the NHS is falling to bits and nurses need food banks to survive. We also hear the NHS has too many managers. Then the next minute we're hearing that the NHS is a national treasure that needs protecting at all cost? Maybe it's time for a national debate regarding the NHS? We trust a lot of private companies to provide essential services. For instance food/ housing/ air travel etc are all provided by private companies. I don't see why healthcare has to be provided by a state behemoth...
  24. Mark, we all want good schools and a good NHS. However Jeremy Corbyn also wants more immigration. Even if Saint Jeremy finds extra money for schools etc it's likely that the amount of migrants wanting these public services will mean standards in schools/ the NHS goes down. If Jeremy really cared about the British working class he'd be doing everything he possibly could to reduce low skilled immigration.
  25. But that's the whole point. If people want vastly improved public services it means taxes go up for the "working man".... I was also pointing out the hypocrisy of people wanting taxes to be raised if they are not voluntarily giving to the NHS etc.
