  1. Why not get an electric/ hybrid vehicle? The latest Mitsubishi 4wd plug in hybrid can travel 33 miles on battery. I'd imagine that would cover 90% of journeys.
  2. Hi, I'm Rebecca, 22 years old, size 8, 32DD bust.
  3. We never actually found out if we're going to run out of oil Anyway, i'm going to do the sensible thing and stockpile a few dozen glass bottles of petrol in my house.
  4. This is shaping up to be a monumental Internet battle. It's like watching a tennis match at Wimbledon.
  5. Maybe you could use your oil field experience to actually have a discussion? You just seem to insult people....
  6. Could you just keep your logs well inside the barn? I can't help thinking netting would also keep the wind out.
  7. The extremist beliefs in places like Saudi are unreal. There was a fire in a Saudi school and the the school girls tried to escape. They were pushed back inside ( and burned to death) by the religous police because they were immodestly dressed. The main reason that the Middle East doesn't have a huge problem with islamic terrorism is that they have a ruthless police force. At the moment the police force keep on top of the extremists. However if the Middle East ran out of money there would be huge social upheaval and I can't see the police keeping on top of things. Before the discovery of oil the Middle East was very poor as they had few industries. Without oil it's hard to see how places like Saudi can sustain a modern functioning society.
  8. Maybe the future oil price will be dictated by political stability in the Middle East? Places like Saudi keep their population happy by giving them lots of money and easy jobs. However with the low oil price the Saudis are running out of money. IMHO sooner or later they will run out of money and spoiled Saudis will no longer be able to afford their third world maids and Range Rovers. When that happens the religous zealots will gain control and cause mayhem. It's Western expats that keeps the Middle East running (the technical skill of Arabs is amazingly poor). If/ when IS start attacking westerners in places like Saudi the entire western expat population will get flights home leaving no one to run oil refineries etc.
  9. Using the "n" word isn't advisable. However this will be another occasion where the media and SJWs get on their high horses and hound someone out of a job while ignoring far worse injustices.... I just wish the media would report on white farmers getting killed in South Africa or things like Rotherham.
  10. It happens quite often when overnight construction work is happening next to a house. The contractor pays for a night in a hotel for the householders. Certainly where I'm working just now the contractor has put people up in hotels.
  11. Some construction work is noisy and there's not really a lot you can do about it. Tbh, If you move next to a railway I don't really think you can complain too much about occasional maintenance work at night.... The construction workers have to finish work at about 6am because if they work after that time it will cause chaos to the travelling public. If construction work overruns they are likely to pay a 6 figure fine.... Anyway, I bet the occupants of the houses were in a hotel last night....
  12. I can't believe the tenants from the Grenfel tower. They've turned a tragedy into a political football. My sympathy for them is evaporating quickly.
  13. Does anyone here really like driving in rush hour? If I can use a car that can drive itself it means I can sit on the back seat and have a snooze Tesla cars can effectively drive themselves (look on YouTube if you don't believe me). IMHO, self driving technology will revolutionise life. Just imagine a ford transit that will drive to work by itself, take all your waste to the tip by itself, then drive you home after getting lashed in the pub.
  14. We all know self driving cars are around the corner. As soon as we get them it will mean people can get rid of their cars and share a self driving über taxi to work. It will mean the amount of cars on the road will decrease greatly. Imagine how little a self driving bus would cost to run. Self driving technology really has the potential to revolutionise public transport It means places like Saudi Arabia will have less influence over the West
  15. Is it a rabbit or a hare?
  16. I'd imagine most people adopting new technology have been accused of "cheating". I'd imagine if Arbtalk existed 2000 years ago there would be a thread complaining about the first person using a metal axe instead of a traditional stone axe. Maybe there are things that can't be carved by hand but can be carved by machine?
  17. They've been talking about planting trees by helicopter for years. Seemingly the trees have a weight (like a piece of steel) attached to them so that they bury into the ground. I can't see them being able to plant trees at the right spacing for commercial crops. However I'd imagine planting trees for wildlife would work quite well. Drones could be amazing for forestry. Imagine removing remote timber by drone? Or fighting a forest fire with water carrying drones?
  18. If the treatment cured the baby it would make sense for the kid to get it. However we all know that any experimental treatment is unlikely to cure any health conditions. I think the courts have made the right decision.
  19. Yeah obviously a white judge cant understand the need of blacks. Next you'll have blacks campaigning to have special "black only" seats on buses...
  20. If anyone ever wants an eye opener look at the house prices for Kensington and Chelsea on Rightmove... There are 78 properties for sale at over £10million... The highest council tax for K&C is £2000 a year... You'd think someone with a £10m house should be paying more than £2000 a year...
  21. Lol, what did I say! In a few months we'll be best pals. Tbh, the pay for an MP isn't really that huge considering the job insecurity and they work in London..... I've travelled in the third world and a lot of officials want baksheesh (backhanders) because they are paid poorly. If you cut MPs pay you'd get more corrupt MPs.
  22. tbh, if I was a pensioner I'd be insulted that the government thought I was that senile that I couldn't budget for winter fuel bills.... It seems strange that pensioners get the fuel allowance/ free TV licences and free bus travel. IMHO, the people that need a little extra help are the young and low paid.
  23. How many MPs are there? 650? If they gave themselves a £10k pay rise that's only £6.5m a year... How many pensioners are there? 10 million? What is the fuel allowance? £100 or similar? That's £1 billion.
  24. Then you have the environmental issues that migration brings... We need an extra 300 houses a day to accommodate net migration into the UK. That's a lot of greenfield being covered over in concrete.
  25. "White British" is a classification used in the last census. Why do you consider its use offensive? I'd suggest that having a British passport doesn't magically make someone culturally British... We have "British" citizens fighting for groups that quite openly are at war with the West... I 100% agree with what you are saying. However 90% of the people in that block are non white. You can get on your high horse all you want, however the fact is that White British people do not want to become an ethnic minority in their own country.
