  1. But Mark, you want Saint Jeremy to increase taxes so that he can support public services? If you really cared about public services you'd already be donating money to them voluntarily. I think your problem is that you care enough to come on here and tell everyone what an awesome person you are, but you don't care enough to actually put your hand in your pocket. You're just a pound shop Tory.
  2. What I never understand about Labour supporters is that they're always super keen to increase taxes to pay for public services. If they're so keen to pay more for public services why not just send a cheque to the local hospital etc? I'm sure Mark J can confirm that he sends an annual donation to his local school and hospital? Doing anything less would be pure hypocrisy on his part.
  3. So where are Labour going to get all this money to put into public services? The tooth fairy? Down the back of the sofa? Send a letter to Santa? Many of us here realise that sometimes life involves tough choices. If you think Saint Jeremy can prop up all public services, without consequences, you are deluded.
  4. OK Mark, you tell us what other public services you would cut to protect the school budgets? Serious question, how much extra would you be willing to pay to protect schools?
  5. As a matter of interest how many thousand times did you buy that song?
  6. I think we all agree that the last 10 years have been tough. However the Tories seem the only party that can look at problems and come up with semi sensible policies. Mark, you've got to realise that the days of the Labour party looking after the interests of British working class people are over. Unless you're a single mum with kids to 6 different partners or an asylum seeker the Labour party aren't really interested.
  7. It's a bit of a mystery that. It's as if there is a law to prevent radio stations broadcasting cheap propaganda a week before a General Election.
  8. Islamists are happy to die so they can get their 72 virgins (figs) in paradise. It honestly seems a win/ win situation all round if they were helped on their way.
  9. The tories have also given hundreds of billions away in benefits... IMHO, it's about time benefits were cut more for the work shy...
  10. Is it the Chinese state that pays the tariffs? Or the exporting company... The UK has a trade deficit with the EU. If we start tariffs on each other it means the UK benefits... I think it's the Indian government that imposes the tariffs... ie it's the Indian Government that collects the tariffs...
  11. tbh, I'm never really sure if you're just trolling me. Peru has a Free Trade Deal with the EU. I think we can all agree that the UK ha more "economic clout" than Peru... Peru never paid anything for this privilege...
  12. So how much do the Chinese give to the EU for being able to sell goods in the EU? The UK could leave the EU and we'd still be able to sell goods there...
  13. Mark, but that's exactly what people do to get a good deal.... Have you ever haggled over the price of something?
  14. Well why don't you educate me Mark? Corbyn wants to give EU migrants the right to stay in the UK the day after he become PM. What type of negotiator gives away one of his biggest concessions without getting anything back? No one apart from Labour supporters and children would thing that's a good idea.
  15. Just listen to what Corbyn has to say. He wants an EU deal no matter what the cost. It's bizarre, imagine going to a car dealership and saying you want to buy a car no matter what the cost: Corbyn: I've come to buy a car. Car dealership: Well you've come to the right place Corbyn: I will buy a car no matter what the cost. Car dealership: Ohhh Corbyn: How much is that car? Car Dealer: £50 billion. Corbyn: That seems a lot, it says it cost £1000 on the windscreen. Car dealership: It's now £60 billion. Corbyn: Will you take a cheque?
  16. Thinking about it we should all vote for Corbyn. This is a forum dedicated to trees. Corbyn could employ us all to plant magic money trees.
  17. Thanks for that. I looked at it over lunch. To summarise Corbyn's positions: 4:14 Wants to reduce benefits to people in work. 4:28 Abolition of MI5 and Special Branch. Disarming of police. 6:20 Corbyn evasive about getting rid of monarchy. 9:08 No matter what we will get deal with EU. ie the EU will bum us hard in a deal. 11:48 We require migrant workers…. 14:50 Corbyn evasive about using drone strikes to kill terrorists. 15:00 Killing Osama Bin Laden a “tragedy”.
  18. The "in desperate times" thread is over 5 years old. You really want it locked?
  19. What are your unanswered questions? Have you posted a thread to ask the questions?
  20. The real reason people want to close the debate down is because they feel guilty. Many people have spent the last decades defending mass migration from some of the most violent cultures on earth. They attacked anyone that was against the migration as "racist". The Manchester attack has been a wake up call for them. They now realise that their previous beliefs have been wrong. They now realise that they are partly responsible for the deaths of children in Manchester. Instead of admitting they were wrong they'd rather stick their fingers in their ears and close the debate down.
  21. The thing is I'm not saying anything that many many people aren't also saying in the privacy of their houses or to close friends.... Many people will be reading this thread and thinking "this matelot guy makes some interesting points, I broadly agree with his arguments". Then they read that people want to close the debate down... We all know that people generally want to close debates because they are losing the argument.
  22. That's really not something you should be proud of....
  23. Yeah, that's right Rich. It's obviously the tories that are behind these attacks. lol, I put "deluded" into my sat nav and half an hour later I was on your driveway!
  24. His family were hardcore Islamists. His father was an asylum seeker from Libya because he was a hardcore Islamist. His Iman (the one that led the minutes silence) fought Gasaffis forces in Libya. Was it them that informed the authorities?
  25. if you look at "the lounge" the threads are rarely posted on. Apart from this thread the most recent post was three days ago... To continue the pub analogy, if it wasn't for this thread "the lounge" would have been boarded up years ago.
