  1. No I mean if he's working on the ground would you pay him a climbers rate just because he can climb
  2. PTO chipper
  3. Yes, I owned a Scheisling pro chipper on my Valtra, I have used Jensen and greenmech and a graveley chipper too.
  4. If you try all the choppers and then choose the one that suits your needs and budget. My first experience with a chipper was a TWso when I bought my first chipper that's what I got then I got another and so on.
  5. But if you have a Groundy who can climb then are you saying you wil pay the same as a climber?
  6. stowmarket, Suffolk. I have always had Timberwolf, I like the brand and they are well made and British, the 230 is a great chipper, easy to look after and has an excellent cutting system. The roller box and rollers are well made with easy access anvil and blades, a very good chipping capacity and good back up should you need it.
  7. I've just ordered a Timberwolf 230 VTR, it should be with me the first week of June. I really wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I had a good tour of the factory last week and saw how they are made, they are built to a very high standard.
  8. Without seeing the job I who knows I would but based on what you say I would be at about £3500 -£4 k plus VAT.
  9. I'd tell them to bog off and wake the fork up!! Aholes!!
  10. I like the pfanner grip gloves the best, the palms last a very long time and they wash up a treat.
  11. From the picture it looks like 30 mins work, done chipped and gone. £120 max.
  12. On a lawn in front of the house.
  13. £90-£120 depending on experience
  14. I spent a few hours chipping for the F/C at Gisburn today, it was dry and a place I've never been to, but will go again and take my MTB.
  15. Can't wait to watch this!!
  16. Awesome program, he was well happy when he got to fly one!!
  17. Let's hope he can win a TT race as he really deserves it.
  18. It doesn't look as well made as the Stihl combi can, also not being clear makes it hard to see how much fuel and oil there is.
  19. Thick black line in the right stem crown, looks insulated but as wood wizard States you would still need permission to work on the tree I would think.
  20. Mo need to apologise for offering your opinion. I was nearly pointing out how that bit came across in your post.
  21. In the original post he says that he will have to go back to chip up so that's 4 50 min journeys before anything else to consider.
  22. Why would you post that if it wasn't next to a road then a climber and a grounder could smash it out in a day? That's like saying if there wasn't a wall or road there or the power cable and if you had a whole tree chipper to take it in one go then the job could be done in 2 hours. The guy has posted for opinions on price for the job as described. Sure we will all have different ways of doing it as we all operate different set ups but no one can alter the situation of the job or it hazards.
  23. So there is 50 mins drive each way then 40 mins work in a tricky situation, then you have go back to clear up so another 50 mins each way travel and chipping up etc. £100 is not a realistic price in my business set up, for 1 man and chipper doing all that traveling then clearing up then I would charge £400 plus vat.
  24. But it cost a bloody fortune.
