How do you find a local sawmill as I am not in the business?

Thank-you. Tanat Valley Firewood There was a guy on here who I got 7 tonnes off last year for the price of the delivery costs. But he is not picking up his messages at the moment. Hadn't thought of trying our local saw mill, will ask them about their slab wood. Tree surgeons around here sell their wood as there are soo many people with burners now.

I would have it but too far away in Herts, Beds, Bucks border. Shame. Still waiting for some to come up here to season for the Rayburn.

Yes we have one. I think they are really good if you want your house heated more evenly. Shop around of course as the prices vary. We got our Ecofan from Amazon.

If you have any wind blown trees or timber. I am always on the lookout for timber in the Beds, Bucks, Herts area they want to get rid of.. It's really frustrating at this time of year when there is lots of wind blown stuff around and just can't seem to get to it. I was at Spa training college today and asked about a huge tree that was blown down. They said I could have a few logs but the rest had to be burnt on site by the head gardener! So I have emailed the general manager. I would happily come get it from you as long as it’s free/cheap. Any now or in the future please send me a pm. I had to go and get it - no problem. So there must be other places too where they just have to burn the stuff. I have also emailed the local golf course too. As I need a break. I can provide a free log tip site I have told them to save you having to burn it onsite. Other wind blown trees I have seen all belong to farmers and have not yet approached them yet as apparently they get SPS subsidy. I have a VW transporter van I can borrow for the day and collect a load or two. There must be other legal ways of getting wood as we need a regular supply? Towser Thanks in advance

Me too, I am a stove owner but about an hour away. Always on the lookout for logs to keep the bills down. I wonder what regulations there are to be a free tip site for logs only preferably hardwood!

I didn't know you gave it away on Freecycle and Gumtree I have been waiting on the Firewood forum for some. I'd love to have some hardwood cos the soft stuff tars up my chimney.
