  1. I'm having a website built as we speak. 1500 hundred quid. That might sound like a lot but really its nothing serious. Its not a tree surgury website its a pest control website so has a lot of content. I have ongoing seo and she is worth her weight in gold. Its a local business I pay her 65 quid a month to manage my pay per clicks. You pay for what you get these build your own websites are fine but rarely get onto a search page so only work if someone goes directly to them. Its a mine field. what do you want to achieve with this site.
  2. A friend uses a dewalt nailer really impressive just uses a battery no extra gas.
  3. Have you tried knights of langworth. On the way to Lincoln from where you are.
  4. Of course those chemicals cause damage but no one seems to realise that the alternatives are not sweetness and light. Any insecticide does exactly what it says on the tin. Misuse of chemical has generally been using powders to treat honey bees which is pest control 101 you just don't do it.
  5. Humble bumble is definitely not protected. The main problem is that there are lots of different types and jo public couldn't care less they just want them gone. We live in an urbanised population and that is not going to reverse. There is no protection in the pipe line its unenforceable. The only prosecution s relating to bees is usually the misuse of chemicals.
  6. Moved a cracker of a bumble nest today nice and early most still at home, another to do tomorrow out of a compost heap. Dealt with a swarm of bees and treated a wasp nest. Its going to be a really good insect year.
  7. No legal protection is given to any bee. I move about 50 nests a year, bird boxes dig them out the ground and pick them up out of roof spaces. Always wear a suit though. I used to bring quite a few home as some are supposed to not do well if you move them. All the ones I brought back did ok. I love watching them but a lot of people just don't want them.
  8. I have first hand experience of the rspca I had a girlfriend who worked in one of there wildlife centres. I wouldn't let them look after my dog. There are people high up in the organisation that don't believe that people should keep pets as its cruel. Its scary how much power they think they have. My very ex girlfriend was at this centre when this happened. They took an animal in while not being able to look after it. RSPCA-NOT-WHAT-THEY-SEEM: Wild Golden Eagle Dead Thanks to the RSPCA
  9. Me and a friend did 25 tons cut up in 2 and a half days. Not long days but we were cutting the wood for my wood boiler so a 50cm log. If you were cutting for normal firewood at 25cm then thats double the cuts double the sharpening etc. These days can do a 25 ton load in just less than 2 and a half days with our posch processor and my back doesn't hurt.
  10. Thanks for all the advice guys, went with a wall paper stripper then petrol on a rag followed by t cut. The biggest thing I have learnt is be careful how much sign writing you put on a truck as one day you will have to get it off.
  11. As the title says what is the best way to remove sign writing from my truck.
  12. When I worked on a fish farm all the guys used to pee in the new water filters to kick start the cleaning bacteria.
  13. Remember if you did treat it and sell it you would need a coshh sheet for the chemical. I deal with sx environmental for my woodworm treatment its a bit more user friendly than the killgerm one. I would be interested to know if they will accept an order from you as its supposed to be professional use only.
  14. In reality your better off keeping all your wood sealed away from the dreaded furniture beetle. If your wood has not already got wood worm then you can apply as much chemical as you like but it probably won't stop them as handling will just rub of the chemical. Thats why when I'm asked to spray timber for woodworm as part of my job I won't spray unless the worm is active.
  15. I have also met a man who I watched drink roundup. Heis still alive and has had 2 kids.
  16. Don't think you quite have the right idea you can't put concrete floors in those sorts of pens. It is hard work but it does give results for other wildlife the rspb shoot a lot of foxes on the reserves they manage.
  17. You have not been misinformed. It is illegal to transport a wild animal in a motor car also illegal to release animals onto land that is not your own. The country workers association did a survey on foxes released from town to country. It was pretty amazing.
  18. On the muddy Humber for me. We get far more ducks than geese. Done a lot in Suffolk in the day. Its always a great evening or morning out shot or no shot.
  19. I never discount un seasoned, its still the same product and it costs more to deliver un seasoned logs due to weight of water.
  20. The guy with the oak tree doesn't even know what he think he knows especially with statements like 'I refuse to pay to have it taken down as i know the wood is worth money'. Yeah its worth money moved, cut up, logged and dried and that stuff aint free you moron.
  21. You don't say how big the area is but you could paint it on the leaves of the nettles etc. I do that in my flower beds for accurate application but thats small areas surrounded by flowers and shrubs.
  22. You just need to put the pictures on a website then google will find them. But, if you don't have a high ranking website then your pictures won't be near the top. Its not easy thats why I employ someone to do it for me.
  23. Lots of my work comes through the internet. I do pay per clicks and every year do some link building. This woman is going to build me a log website she also runs another website for me. Devon Search Engine Expert ? SEO Services Companies Plymouth
  24. I think the moral of this story is you can't make money if you employ someone to do all the hard work. Thats the same be it houses, woodland or anything else. If your prepared to graft and make money then a house would be the choice. Rental and increase in value. More relaxed get some woodland potter about it should be worth more than you paid in 10 years time. Hard to make money out of small blocks of woodland harvesting timber.
  25. Surely you could class that as criminal damage. Who planted the tree is irrelevant its who's land its on.
