  1. Just remember nature fills a void. You take 10 pigeons there are always 10 to replace them. Its good habitat.
  2. Assuming they come to the garden to roost they will not spend anytime on the ground. You could feed them onto it but the effect will not be so terminal to prevent them coming back. The legality problem is shooting in the air.
  3. That is the most in depth reply to a question I have ever seen on here. Everyday is a school day.
  4. I'm a pest controller there are some things that keep them away but generally the deterrent needs moving as they soon get used to it. I would say no professional pest controller would touch that as it will be a hiding to nothing. You could cage trap them with a ladder trap. I don't see a way that shooting them would be legal in that situation. I wouldn't say the droppings were that bad. I'm assuming we are talking about wood pigeons.
  5. What happens in salt water to make it unfit for firewood.
  6. Lovely tree, bird scarer maybe, big plastic owl. A lot cheaper and you get to keep the tree, regrowth can be amazingly quick for a healthy tree.
  7. That must be softwood I am cutting timber now that was felled nov 2012 and its well over 30 percent. All hardwood we don't let softwood hand around.
  8. I agree seasoned cord is just a myth. Its next to the unicorns.
  9. We are at 20 percent because we sell it on. 1200 hundred quid with 5 percent included would be to much.
  10. Is that including vat at 20 percent. I would expect to pay 36 to 40 quid plus vat in lincolnshire. I would want a weigh ticket aswell.
  11. I'm pretty sure when the government tried to sell the forests quite a few people cared. You really should be running to be your local mp with views like that. I go up and down when people say there should be regulation on firewood. At the moment I'm up as our local council sells firewood by the builders bag and advertise it as weighing a ton. Thats just not right.
  12. 80 yards is a very long way with an air rifle. I don't take shots with my rimfire that far away.
  13. Nice but I prefer my squirrel control a bit more final.
  14. A kania trap is fixed up a tree so unless the dog can climb you will be absolutely fine with it. I have never heard of anyone zapping a squirrel.
  15. If I was you I would buy a fenn trap or even better a kania trap sit back and wait. Eco friendly and I think a squirrel tail still sells for 30p.
  16. Have you got a moisture reading from the logs. I weigh quite a few of my bags and I think I get 2 cube to the ton that is Beech just delivered in.
  17. Oh and I think the sting hurts more than a wasp.
  18. I'm a pest controller, there are to many types of bumble bee to make broad statements about how they live but as a general rule expect a type of nest containing a couple of hundred bees. See if you can identify the sort of bee as they maybe rare. If you want to move them wrap your self up well or borrow a bee suit and do it at night. Bird boxes are perfect for a them.
