  1. My dad was diagnosed with polymyalgia (pain in many muscles) so adapting the handle has worked wonders for him and makes the farmi a pretty fast machine to use.
  2. took it to bits. clutch plate is fairly worn. anyone know where in the UK to get new one? thanks
  3. strangely, since the temp went up this week sales have picked up!
  4. yes, got my dads mate in Ireland to take a look at it for us and it turned out to be his neighbours old MB so he knew its history. always a bonus. Not too expensive to transport it over, Irish haulage guy was coming across with a livestock trailer to this area anyway. so far shes just been on the log splitter, need to get it registered for on the road.
  5. Just got a 1000 to join our 800. a bit more grunt for hauling logs
  6. Farmi WP36 processor on MB trac 800. just bought a MB trac 1000 but not on the road yet. work an unnamed vertical splitter for the front of the MB for big hardwood rings. Oxdale bench saw on old Major or Davy Brown 1490 Transit tipper for delivery or Toyota Surf & Trailer depending on the winter.
  7. wish I'd seen this thread a few weeks ago. that looks a better saw than the Oxdale we just bought. Although it is working a treat for us.
  8. we recently bought this PTO driven Oxdale Grizzly 700 saw bench and are really impressed with it. Cuts a 12" log from this guy. Compact Tractors, Agricultural Machinery, Heavy Plant - Cowling Agriculture
  9. Hello everyone, my dad bought this old Elkem (Norse) 3081 winch but something seems to be slipping as soon as its under any load. any experts out there know if this would be a simple fix? thanks
  10. My dad is quite happy with his Farmi WP36, considering the price compared to some other makes out there. Like some guys have said, the log lifter can be handy. The handle on the top for working the splitter would be quite handy but is expensive add on for all that it is. we tried the demo towable engine driven one but bought he PTO tractor version. PTO way better for us. Be careful swinging the elevator about, the bar with the slots for changing its position is easily bent. Weve had it 2 years now and its processed a lot of wood. Not sure theres a much quicker machine out there for this kind of money.
  11. did you get anyone to help you with this? Try Clive at Epic Tree Care, he has a Unimog with a winch. Hes at Grange, Keith. Epic Tree Care | Tree Surgeon Aberdeen
  12. we have on of these. [ame] [/ame] you wont do the 60-100 bags per hour they claim but its pretty efficient if you are set up properly with a supply of boards cut to length. The bag filler does work but we prefer using a separate bag filler. theres one on ebay for £1800 Kindling Machine - Logsplitter - Kindler - Firewood - Sticks | eBay
  13. that's a fair piece of kit. this one does the job for all the amount that we bag [ame] [/ame]
  14. Hello Steve, we just bought this Oxdale Grizzly pto saw and it works great. takes up to 12" logs no problem.
  15. crackin MB 900 forestry setup on ebay at the moment UNIMOG / MB TRAC 900 TURBO FORESTRY TRACTOR & TRAILER | eBay
  16. It was black when I bought it renewablejohn. but like it. its only 70 odd hp but the MB is quick on the road for mobile processing jobs + handy bit on the back for carrying tools and stuff. Processer often on an old major at home.
  17. My black MB trac 800 dad uses it for mobile firewood processing jobs.
  18. some close ups for you guys. My dad was diagnosed with polymyalgia (pain in many muscles) so adapting the handle has worked wonders for him and makes the farmi a pretty fast machine to use.
  19. I will see if I can get a close up. Its the customers old JCB 3cx, in need of TLC, breathing very heavy
  20. my dad just modified his farmi to give his arm a rest. works a treat
  21. just bought an old Marshall 602 with loader to help out.
  22. A quote from the founding Director of Trantor. "JCB had looked at the Ag-Unimog and bought two Series 2 Mark One Trantors and Borrowed one from a UK customer, Mr Williams in Wrexham, and worked very hard to create a "high -speed farm tractor that would PLOW"......This was exactly the opposite of what the Trantor team considered rational. The design team at Trantor considered that the transport & low Draught duties of conventional farm tractors are and were MUCH MORE important ......in the time consumed in the farmer`s calendar year........than the Plow & sub-soiling combined. The belief then was that on multi-tractor farms there was a need for two kinds of farm tractors...............one directed to plowing & sub-soiling and others that were DESIGNED to IMPROVE the performance of the MAIN duties that were needed." My dad once had a shot of a mk 1 trantor like the on eon ebay and it was capable of 50mph. (not towing anything) Odd looking things but the mk2 does look a bit better. I think they are still being made in India or somewhere. HMT Trantor 65 - Page 1 [#279628 / 279628]
