3. Sorry to here about this. It just goes to show how fast things can go wronvg. Best wishes for a zpeedy recovery sean. Be safe there guys.
4. Excellent mate, well done, glad everything went ok and we could be some use.
5. How is it that you seem to hav something offensive to say to pretty much everything. It's a serious topic and obviously effects a lot of people on here never mind in the rest of the world as well. It's terribly difficult to get any sort of real help and the stigma that goes with it is very bad as well. My fiancé suffers seriously with mental health problems and it's hell for her to live with. Maybe when you have found someone you love half dead when you get in from work you will feel less inclined to make fun out of it.
6. Just like gardiners said, make sure you comunicate with your driver to work out the weights and know what he can safely deal with at each cut. Desire what signals etc you are going to use to communicate or ideally have some sort if walkie talkie. Other than that make sure your saw is razor and concentrate on good cuts and work positioning. Personally I like to try and cut straight through or use a crane cut over a step cut. Hope this is of some help.
7.
How do mate

im heading up to Largs tomorrow for a month of work. thanks to Ayrshire tree surgeons. just wondering if anybody was in the area and could fill us in on what its like. thanks

15. yeah, but quickly getting as much off as possible. big top.
16. Have a read of Adam Bournes rigging guide, mate. There is loads of useful info in there.
17. make sure you get an eye for the balance points and dont do anything to big to start off with until you get in the swing. also if you have an experienced driver dont be scared to ask. i prefer a sling and spider legs to chains but that's personal choice good luck, if you like rigging you will love it.
18. i found it just fell apart again. the strap will be bought in anyway. its just a generic ratchet strap. from the local place near me the full strap made up in front you at whatever length you need will be about £25 not sure about just the ratchet but probs about half id of thought. good luck with it mate. how do you find the bollard?
19. is it still under warranty? shouldn't be a prob if it is.
20. it happened to mine, best just to replace it id say, go to your local sling/rigging place tough will be loads cheaper
21.
hi mate have you got time to have a chat about the job you have up.

22.
by all over do you still mean fairly local to you or are you nationwide? thqanks john

23. its way expencive for a spliced on mate, it's probably best around 70 cm to keep the knot nice an short but tie a double fishermans instead of the splice, you will probably save yourself £15:thumbup1:
24. Evening all, If you havnt guessed my name is John Meehan, i'm a contract climber based just outside Manchester but im happy to travel over most of the Northwest. I've been climbing for about eight years now and i'm experianced pretty much all aspects of tree work from little pruning jobs to big take downs using rigging or cranes etc. I've also done a fair bit of site clearance and a chunk of work on the railways. I've plenty of experiance with large machinery, I used to have a Unimog myself and have used vairious tractors and whole tree chippers. I'm hard working and punctual and like to just get on with things getting the job done in the most practical and safest way. Ticket wise ive got CS Units 30,31,32,38,39 and my chipper ticket as well as a valid PTS and up to date medical. ive done UA1 and had a Scottish Power autheriseation but suspect its lapsed now. I've got all my own climbing and rigging gear with saws up to an 088 as well as a 4x4 veichle. Like said earlier im happy to go anywhere for work and i dont mind if for a day or a longer stint. If anyone would like anymore info please dont hesitate to get in touch either on here or you can get me on 07456770444. Thanks for reading, John
25.
Hey mate I've been trying to get hold of you. Have you a minute for a chat. Cheers
