  1. Great form mate, love it.
  2. Cheers for that Derv, yeh human form is a great challenge, I kinda went for that type of thing and a bit different from the off, gotta push yourself. Have the luxury of just hobby carving so pleasing myself and doing what I feel like. I'm thinking I should do a few "classics", never done a bear or an eagle, one owl. I'd be screwed with a speed carve, lol. Was the hand thing from that f'in Lancelot?
  3. Top job mate. I'd love to have a few days solid to just carve and concentrate on one piece. Do you go with an idea in mind or just go with the flow? Like I said to wisewood, was hoping to put faces to names and meet you in person but kids got upperty. Next time maybe.
  4. Just got the base to finish off properly but here's my latest carve, I.e yesterday and a bit today. Commissioned present. Out of interest how much would you charge for something like this?
  5. Wow!That's beautiful mate. I was at woodfest but didn't get a chance to meet and put faces to names. The kids were actin up so we got off. Next time. Excellent work.
  6. Love it mate, the client must be over the moon with that.
  7. Cool, not seen it finished or in-situ. Was still flat on the ground when I left it. Hard to tell if it would look alright upright when carved on the deck.
  8. Great idea with book seat, and beautifully executed.
  9. Like the hearts idea, got too many ta choose from now. That can be your table but you'll have to carve it and bring it with ya.
  10. I agree on all counts.
  11. Ha ha! Yeh, tempting. Cheers, if I spent as much time as I'd like to carving !there wouldn't be a wife.
  12. Cheers, yeh was going for all different things/styles, the hand is all chainsaw and gave me a chance to properly try out the samurai r6 carving bar I got off Rob D. Thanks.

  16. Here are the table numbers for my wedding that I talked myself into carving. So I got busy over the last day or two after inspiration from woodcrafters post, and unlike me not leaving it till the night before. Finger pulled out! As you can see trying to mix it up a bit. 1,2,3,and 5 sorted. Any suggestion for numbers 4 and 6???
  17. Yep! Have a makita too, one of the best bits of kit I've bought, should be in every carvers arsenal. Dunno about other attachments tho?
  18. Very nice dude, like abstract stuff. Oh! And congratulations. I'm getting hitched this year too and have somehow talked myself into carving all the table numbers, after turning ma nose up at the flimsy wire stands and cardboard number ones. Only self to blame. I'll get some piccys up soon when I've pulled ma finger out.
  19. Excellent job mate.

  23. Ace that, great work.
  24. Like that mate. Dunno if it's me but your carving seems to have stepped up a level if you get me. How much time do you spend carving a week? Is it full time?
  25. Very nice. What wood?
