  1. have you considered employing a member of staff so you can work?
  2. cut a chuck is all part of the job,its a good way of processing trees fast as all cuttings are ready for chip.... it depends how u price time. we have a large grab on a tractor so useing the mewp and nocking down half ton sections of main stem then lifting them into the trailer is fast and safe without the strain on the groundies. any person willing to work a chainsaw from a rope and harness is good imo so to be able to use the climber on the limited access jobs and the mewp on easy access jobs atchually helps the climber develop as they get time to rest...
  3. having used both for work the rodeo is a far better wagon than the d=max.... proved and tested with tracked chippers on trailers in the mud!!!!
  4. climber 120 a day employed is standard round ere when the climber can do the job that is...
  5. yep... take the sail out of the tree and keep it the size it is.it will be fine that big if sound in health. it would cost in excess of £1000 by the sound of it to stack it in split logs for a year so it may just pay to get a couple of loads of firewood and keep the trees we need.
  6. it was a multi stem beech and when the climber got to one of the main stems around the back of the tree he decided it would probably go out of control and snap the lowering point off due to decay,he did a good job on about half the job as the mewp would not have reached all the tree.after a few lumps had hit the deck i asked the climber if he was ok with the level of decay and he declined.saying it was mushy and rotten at 70ft.we then decided to fetch the mewp...... its a good day when we all go home.
  7. :lol:we have a non read and write at work and he is a fantastic tree cutter at 17yrs.... i cant cut for sh1t and got loads of tickets....
  8. thats the way it is your right. it dont take much to trip and go through the chipper.....
  9. i just paid 76.67 +vat at radmore and tucker....
  10. had a climber come down on thursday after a 50% dismantle .He decided not to continue as the tree was well rotten, then the boss appeared with the mewp and finished the job off.... nice to have a good climber and a mewp..

  12. jezus cant people wait till after work?...........work is dangerous enough without being crosseyed.
  13. yep,If the ground damage is no issue the crane can do some shifting... the thing is it does 3 mans work so reduces the cost of labour and keeps the workforce down, when it breaks we fix it..... that bad boy does alot of kph but is a hand full, there is 1 long standing member of staff other than myself allowed to operate it along side the business owner ,i drive far bigger on other jobs. the 6330 is useable in a cul-de-sac .....
  14. erm ok... it not mine! mines red lol... its belongs to work...this was on a school run lol... and in yard. I operate the tractor and chipper, among other things........
