A horrible beast of a poplar, had to have the gas board there as the mains was only half a metre under.

I have one, it's good quality built. Hasnt failed to split anything yet and I've put some big rings at it. Only ever use it horizontal as it would be too painful and time consuming to bend down all the time. The four way always catches the log on the return stroke and gets stuck. Good splitter to start with or small amount of splitting.

Believe me I tried, even quoting these acts, the woman was so rude and unhelpful. I will never use Buxtons again. I now have to sit in and wait for a courier to collect them from my house!!!

I haven't found more comfortable or lighter pair of boots for climbing and I now accept they will burst there seems, but normally after 8months. These are my current pair.

From buxtons, I thought it would be easy but had the most difficult and awkward staff member saying it's not there problem and I have to go to Haix first for assessment before I can have a refund/ new pair. I'll just climb in my socks while I wait !

That's more respectable for both of us I guess. Building a trailer as we speak for easier loading. This is for the 7.5 not the MOG though

Nice thread, I'm going through the same thing with mine just now. Same hiab setup. Both our springs are gone too, are you putting On the heavy duty ones ? What's the plan with loading timber when you have a chip box on ? Trailer ?

That's a cracking machine !! Slope isn't the problem on the job it's the rocks.

If you want the cobra to be rated higher you just double up. As for the cabling normal practise is to drill through the stem. I did see a company selling cable bracing with slings, I've had a quick search but couldn't find it again.

No we unbolted and pushed it back and re bolted and fitted an extendable towbar. This way you get the back to touch the ground at a gentle enough angle to run stumper and tracked chipper on.

Yeah that's the risk, but I've found that with the type of young man I described they'd be more loyal and faithful. If your lucky though you could get the right guy and keep him for years.

Yes i paid for there training. Including chipper, chapter 8, and climbing, prob nearer £5k. But if you get the right guy he'll be grateful, appreciative and you'll get that money back but having him apart of your business. After you've got him climbing you can start paying him well then you've got a guy trained how you want him and hopefully cause you've been the one to take a chance he'll stick around. Just my way, I like to give guys a chance that I wish I was given.
