They continued because of rationing and demobilisation, that's the important point. Several million men returning home to a nation almost bankrupt and lacking in domestic food to feed them, then the Berlin airlift also threw a spanner in the works. So rationing continued until we're were able to feed ourselves and then ID cards slowly went away once we didn't have to ration!. Farmers must be like those tree surgeons then or robbing from the stationary cupboard like SP.

And why did rationing continue?. Did food miraculously appear the day after Germany gave their unconditional surrender?.

Because you had to prove you weren't a enemy or liable for conscription. A lot of miners and sewer diggers were actually conscripted/volunteered in WW1 for special projects. Plus, when did rationing end ?. You'll be surprised and that's partly also why.

If a developer has put in an application it's not public open space, it's private property regardless of if it's fenced. Either put you hands in your pockets and buy it or continue to grumble and let them improve what most people would call an eyesore. All you'll do is annoy the landowner and what was going to be 3 spacious executive homes will turn into 150 HMOs and a carpark. -

Personally I'd take off the blue bearing and see if there's a mullered spacer between the bearing and the roller. It looks like it should force everything to the right when assembled, could be something as simple as a collapsed bearing as that locking thing should be sat tight against the bearing. I'd have to see what diagrams are online, but I'm hoping you understand my explanation?. -
Oh I debate plenty and it's a sorry state of affairs where people like him seem to yearn and gurn for Tony to add another ID card onto his lanyard. They way some of you speak makes V look like a holiday destination, got your fingermen applications filled in an ready ?.

Don't think I'm walking around the streets on a public forum hollering my opinions out loud acting like I'm the font of all knowledge/opinions/public decency and morale arbiter after a Google search. Most of us here have the common decency to express our opinions or knowledge of a subject from actual having done something and experiencing the world. SP is like that fella in the pub that claims to have been abducted by aliens or just another Walter

Why should I have to prove anything as I go about my day, unless I'm driving or using a service I should be able to remain unchallenged and that includes the police. Let's use your terrible love of the system, if I have a accident. Will that clipboard warrior check my pockets or rouse me from my delirium to prove I'm a citizen 1st, or are they going to let me bleed out into the gutter ?.
