  1. Bit simplistic but it's the Jetstream moving around. Partly why we have this current weather, everything is cyclical tho so it's not necessarily less wind just elsewhere.
  2. Blame those pesky wind turbines!.
  3. Unless you're in the depths of nowhere is it really worth buying a set when it's about £60 for a sweep ?. Plus they can check for damage with a camera.
  4. Go to an actual shop, don't buy online if you can avoid it. Everyone will have a bias but the shop, installer and sweep will have volume and experience on their side. Plus they're the ones you'll be moaning to if/when it needs maintenance.
  5. That's a breach of planning, not home insurance
  6. But can he sing the full score from HMS Pinafore?
  7. Zero, why would you think it would ?.
  8. So is this guy a homeowner or farmer as access to a telehandler suggests farmer ?. Then to build something new next to a argumentative neighbour with overhanging trees seems very stupid, just to invite problems. Personally I would say solicitors letter highlighting the risk and leave it alone. That way it's on file with a third party.
  9. Corrected a link to that boiler, is the exhaust fan clean or a bit lacking in power ?. If so a new capacitor might be your first try.
  10. Model number would be good, presumably it's solid fuel if you've cleaned the tubes. Vigas 40 LC DUNSTER-SPARE-PARTS.MYSHOPIFY.COM Dunster Spare Parts is a UK supplier of Boilers and spare parts for Vigas, Fröling, Akvaterm, Galú, Esbe...
  11. Start simples, battery pack should start it if has no electrical gremlins other than a flat battery. Next check would be ignition switch personally, especially if it's been left outdoor for any length of time and like a drowned rat. And obviously oil level. Obviously if you know what you're doing, offer peanuts but for a 5 year old machine with 350 hours does fill me with equal measure of oh that's a bargain & it's a solvable bag of spanners.
  12. Is that because quieter ?, always found using petrol became something of a gulag style form of punishment.
  13. A 22ton is around 1.5 litres an hour when the 6.5 Hp is running full scream, you can run them a little slower to save the old ears and make life a little more comfortable as it's not a race. Never tried the MDL diesel tho, but assume anything running at 3600rpm is equally loud regardless of fuel type.
  14. Why am I imagining some waste management style meetings ?.
  15. Standard oil is CST 100 from memory, you've already had a few suggestions such as Stihl. The choice as they say is yours but either way you'll be paying a premium for thin oil with anti fling additive
  16. Presumably it's style over actual function and not to be wheeled around the village selling your wears ?. Maybe just add a couple of legs behind the wheel and hide them behind the spokes.
  17. Has it lost all the paint or just around the edges, that would suggest it's getting very hot. Usually at refill time I'll check tension, temperature and if it needs a sharpening before firing up again
  18. Definitely agree with @Peasgood, more space junk, fortunately it's within our orbit so will eventually return and burn up upon reentry. Just a bit daft everyone with competing systems, Amazon were doing aswell. Surely easier to invest in the land based fibre infrastructure, almost as hypocritical as sky and their net zero pledge whilst firing up a new satellite every few years.
  19. Maybe your over tightening the chain causing it to stretch prematurely. I cut a lot of firewood, sharpening regularly so probably 30m3 between chains, but never had one stretch much. It's usually lacking teeth rather than adjustment.
  20. 14" should be 60 link, i run a 18" that's 74. I'd count the links personally just for my own peace of mind.
  21. Those will be the newly launched SpaceX on the 17th. Over time the spread out into a constellation.
  22. End of travel, what bar and chain are you running?. If anything it should be about 1/4-1/2 of the adjustment travel
  23. A worn rim will have impressions, surface marks are fine but when it indented it will make for a looser chain and require more adjustment to take up the slack. I should note it's a dark art getting tension just right as it will tighten and loosen depending on temp.
  24. That and the yours are so much dryer than the kiln dried ones I bought last, yeah and paying considerably less whilst in the same breath grumbling at the price!.
  25. Granted I do use half a IBC as a builders bag, it's a little more generous so charge accordingly but saves on double handling. Customers tend to understand pretty quickly and those are the ones you tend to keep, they may occasionally go elsewhere but very quickly return.
