  1. I've just been to have a look at it, as i'm local, not sure if i can get it in my trailer, which i rather foolishly did'nt take with me, on my own. I will try & get back there with the trailer & try it. Rob
  2. Looks like nowhere in the G'town area then. Rob
  3. That sounds interesting, who's it on with ? Rob
  4. Lol !, And with practise you should be able to balance a fourth on your head... Rob
  5. Maybe 2 builders bags, one in each hand ?... Rob
  6. Thank you gents ! And at 55, later life is creeping up on me, however i'm not a tree surgeon, i'm a gardener, so it looks like the stuff i chip up is a lot lighter..... Rob
  7. I made a frame yesterday, that means i can have the chipper on the floor at the rear of the trailer, but it raises it up high enough to allow it to discharge straight into the trailer. I would prefer to have it in the trailer, but don't want to alter the trailer until i've tried (& failed !)with other options. Rob
  8. The disposable builders bags, that a ton of sand/gravel come in, they are tough, hold a lot of chip, & can still be moved by one person even when full. Rob
  9. I'm at Grantham, & i could also do with somewhere to tip. Rob
  10. Thanks for the input folks. The treebusta weighs in i think at 200kilos. Not thought about having it on the towbar, & not sure how i'd get it up there !. I have a toyota hiace, not the most powerful beast to tow with. Its not a tipper trailer, while i think the quality is good, i have'nt looked at an IW, but i would suspect the IW is of a more durable quality. I was using the chipper yesterday, & had it in the rear of the trailer, but at an angle, which was bit of a pain, as i had to keep clearing away the chip from the discharge chute, i'll keep thinking & experimenting. Rob
  11. As you all probably know, the treebusta ejects out the side, so until i think it through, i'm going to build a platform so i can stand the chipper on the floor at the rear of the trailer, with the discharge port higher than the trailer bed, then shoot straight in to the trailer. Rob
  12. Interesting thread, i've got one property i rent,& would like another, but a wood ia appealing, but i wood'nt(sorry..)know where to start searching for, other than that company that charges a fortune, any tips ?. Rob
  13. I was by there a few weeks ago, i called in at that little engineering yard to get some metal, & one of your chippers was being built up there. Good luck Rob
  14. Last week i collected a paxton trailer, the caged 7 x 5 one, wanted the 8 x 5, but just could'nt fit it in my garage. Anyway its well made & i'm happy with it, but..my treebusta, is just a couple of inches to long to fit width ways in it. i had hoped to have it width ways, then just chip into the trailer. So any thought as to what i can do ?. i'm thinking of cutting a section of the mesh out, so the "nose" of the chipper will fit through, but any ideas are welcome. Regards, Rob
  15. Just got back, it was free entry, with free bacon roll & a "t"shirt, so a good day. I got £50 off the Price of a festool jigsaw(had a voucher), also got to see the makita 4stroke strimmers(any one used one ?)& the rep said he'd let me have one for a couple of weeks to try out, we'll see if he lives up to his word. Rob
  16. Any one going today ?, I asked my good lady if she fancied a weekend away in Harrogate at a spa, & would you like to start the weekend off by going to a show & a meal... ....So tool fair it is, + they give you a free bacon roll...call me an old romantic, but i know how to show a girl a good time... Rob
  17. Which one to get ?, i've been asked to strim a large rough area, & i only have a small(petrol mculloch)strimmer. Just looking for advice, i've seen the stihl fs56 c, but not sure what else is out there & are they any good ? Regards, Rob
  18. Only have the one commercial job, but i charge £20 ph, i do a minimum of 4hrs per month over the winter(nov, dec, jan)now looking to up it to 6 for march. To start with i charged a fixed price to get the grounds up to spec, then went on to the hourly rate. Rob
  19. Just be aware anyone working in the area, they look to be setting up on the sports centre, but not been that way for a week(they were'nt there then)so could of been there a few days. Rob
  20. I was working in London back in 1985, & only coming home for 2 days a fortnight, & being faced with a big overgrown lawn. I went in to cromwell mowers(is it still going ?)at Market Harborough, & asked for the "biggest mower" i could get for £200. I was told don't get the biggest get the best, & came out of there with a briggs & stratton powerd red rover. I'm still using said rover, not just for my own garden but commercialy as well, best buy i ever made, that engine never misses a beat. Rob
  21. Some good experiences there. Rob
  22. Not sure there is one, however, i think i've got about as close as you can get. Started to put up a new fence for a young couple yesterday, on arrival i found he'd started doing groundwork, & everything was clear for me to start, impressive !, then his wife made me a cup of tea. The guy laboured for me & worked well, then at half 10, his wife brought out more tea & bacon rolls, at 12 more tea + cakes, then at 2, his mum turned up with a big tray of home made cakes !. Went back today just to finish off, & got more tea + cakes, the guy still wanted to work, & they've asked me to go back & cut the hedge !. Rob
  23. Thanks again for the feed back. Looks like the wolfe could be the way to go. Regards, Rob
  24. Thanks for the advice. I have a couple already, one which is very old & operates via metal rod not rope, & a modern system by gardena, but i wanted the longer reach, i've seen the wolfe one for £65. Yesterday i saw a team working in Grantham & they were using a huge one, that was grey in colour, i was driving so was unable to stop & ask what make it was. Rob
  25. I'm looking for a manual pole pruner/lopper, i've seen the wolfe system, which i think goes up to 4metres, are there any others out there ?. Regards, Rob
