  1. I've emailed Eliet to see if I can get a demo, But I've been looking at a Echo/bearcat on ebay... Rob
  2. I've already posted that I'm considering getting a shredder, & I see there is one of these on ebay having only done light domestic work, any thoughts or experiences with them ? Rob

Thank you, I took your advice, so now hold you responsible !(joking....) Rob

    Stihl fs 70

Just been in to the dealers & saw the fs94, 7 like you say lighter & comes with a full harness, it is (according to the catalogue)8cm longer, now I can't decide:confused1: Rob
  5. Any thoughts on the stihl strimmer ?, not needed a big strimmer before, but now have a couple of jobs coming up where I will need one. The local dealer has suggested this one any thoughts ? Rob
  6. I find that work has changed, & I know hardly, cut anything over an inch, & mostly far smaller, starting to wonder if I should get a shredder, as my treebusta does struggle with small stuff & constantly jams up on it. Any thoughts/comments ? Rob
  7. Currently getting my polo shirts from greentime clothing, the polo's are very hard wearing, & the logo is staying in place despite numerous washes, but I do turn them inside out when washing to protect the logo. [email protected] Greentime Clothing | Grantham Clothing, Workwear, PPE, Personalised Clothing The link probably won't work due to my lack of computer knowledge, but try giving them an email/google them. Rob
  8. I've done one job that was chip only. I was working at one house & a guy approached me. I charged him £35 for the first hour, then £10 for every 15 minutes after that. It was all smallish stuff, nothing bigger than 2", & took me 1hr 10 minutes, but it sounds like I'm under charging. Rob
  9. Have a look around the dealers. I went into my local dealer 2 weeks ago, & they told me that they couldn't sell push mowers, as everyone now wanted powerd ones, so they were discounting the push models. Rob
  10. I've seen the bandit, & it is well made, but its long over 7ft, so could be awkward to fit in a van. Rob
  11. I hear what you are saying, but he's mid 30's, single bloke, isn't disabled, & in his words," I can't be arsed to do it..." Rob

    Vivaro vans

I saw today that the AA are using them, so I asked the guy what he thought, he couldn't speak highly enough of them, he was on his 4th, the other 3 having done in excess of 100k each with no issues. Rob
  13. Just been round to a rented property to quote for cutting the back lawn, its in a right state, knee high & full of Japanese snipers & wooly mammoths you know the sort of unloved back garden. He was happy with the price, asked me to come back Wednesday, as he gets his dole money that day, & will be able to pay me then ! I'm not knocking it, as I'm getting paid to do it, but what is the country coming to when some one who is unemployed(long term, I asked him)can afford to pay someone to cut his grass ? Rob

    Vivaro vans

Now that hits the nail on the head. The Toyota has made me lazy in respect that it doesn't need maintanence at the weekends, I just drive it & forget it inbetween services. I do use the van for other stuff as well as work, camping & such. Rob
  15. Not had a problem all year, until yesterday, went to pick up 5, but was told they'd sold out, but are getting more by the middle of the week. However, I have been able to pick up work because others have said there is none available, but as said I've been able to get them until yesterday. Rob

    Vivaro vans

Mine has always been serviced by Toyota, but the new proace just seems to be a rebadged citroen/peugot & a lot more expensive than either, it just seems the more I look the more confused I become ! Rob

    Vivaro vans

Thanks fella's, some pro's & cons there !. I currently have a Toyota hiace which is on the 55 plate & I've had it from new & never had a problem with it. I'm a gardener not a tree surgeon, but do have a chipper(treebusta) which sometimes goes in the back, & I tow a 7x5 trailer.I can afford a new van & saw the deals being offerd, a panel van is the best choice for me, so any thoughts on the vivaros rivals, such as the relay boxer & ducato ? Thanks again for the information. Rob
  18. Theres a new model due out at the end of the year, so there are some deals to be had. Anyone got one ?, & whats the general difference between the vivaro ,nissan primastar & the Renault traffic. Regards, Rob
  19. Thanks for all your advice gents. I'm computerless at the moment, & scrounging time on my good lady's laptop, which is way to techno for me, so when mine comes back from having new bits welded on it i'll be able to check out the names/sites you've suggested. Regards, Rob
  20. So, the scaffolding planks i'm using, have warped, & i'd like some decent ramps for loading my chipper(tree busta)mowers & stuff on to the trailer/in the van. I'd like them to be 2mtrs in length unless they are folders then i'll have a longer pair, i'd also like "channel" ones so i don't push the chipper off the side when taking a run up. Thanks for looking, Rob
  21. Who's got one ?, & what are they like on small stuff ?. Many thanks, Rob
  22. I tend to go sideways on. Rob
  23. I use a tree busta at the moment, which i take the chute off, making it easier to load/unload. Had a lad(26 !) working for me the other day, & he wanted to put it back in the trailer on his own, but could'nt get it up the ramps, "how the f**k do youi manage this on your own ?" he asked me !. Rob
