  1. you make a good point about the power out put and if iam honest i get bored looking up with the 181 as it can be a little slow so maybe i will try 211 or maybe the next one up do husky do a simerl what do you use ?
  2. may i add i can get the 211 for £306 as part of a bulk buy deal i am doing .
  3. ok people need a new ground saw am thinking MS211 with a 16 inch bar. reason for this is we had a cheap 181 in use by the groundeys its not been looked after to a high standard like the more expensive saws and the top handles. but its never missed a beat and its done a hell of alot of work and felling its massively made its money and av used it in a tree a few times only thing i find its a bit gutless when cutting through big stuff on the ground but to be expected. so if i was to get a 211 as an upgrade and have it as a day to day saw rather than the runt of the litter? whats peoples thought on it? thanks
  4. good point i think
  5. how about if when the picture was taken of the ser plate could the seller cover like 2 numbers with a finger or something and then that way the seller protects their ser number and the buyer or someone looking for there nicked kit would be able to tell its theirs. I wouldn't buy unless i had a feel and play with it in there yard if am honest i feel ebay is getting very dodgy at the moment and like one of the guys said a lot of theft at the moment its a minefield :confused1:
  6. no totally agree just had a rant think it went abit off topic to be honest i think there is a fine line between it all and its a case by case argument dont think it can be generalized
  7. hi will as my old feller if your stuck hes had his own business on the wirral for 33 + years i would offer but but i am away let us know how you do?
  8. this is it we have all the insurance qualifications training equipment witch none of which is cheap and its all depreciating by the day yet them people in the shiney tippers doing a job and then fly tipping the waste or your have ago gardener on his landscaping insurance something needs to be done to stop it i think we're about the only profession left that can still be "done" by idiots. its like dyno rod doing gynaecology on the side. anyways rant over lol
  9. hi just update the guys i was talking to about the stump job. had a site meeting at lunch time today with him and went through everything to justified the price (£960) fully insured public liability etc etc i took my laptop in the L200 and showed him some of our work befor and after pics and as always was honest and upfront and said you could go to the hire shop and hire a small grinder for a few days and do it yourself even gave him the the card of the guy who does them. i also encouraged him to seek other prices. message in the diary when i got in tonite asking me when i can start the job.
  10. no problem and this guy gave his estimate first i was then contacted through recommendation to give a quote the guy whos job it is said even he though it was a bit cheap and hes a builder.
  11. well the price is for the the job done not a day rate and thats that thanks for your concern gents
  12. i would of allowed two days but i think a full day might suffice it was an old hedge an combination of sycamore and elm stumps all suckering so basicly i will be rotavating a 1 meter wide by 10 meters long strip the ground is built up around the stumps so there is about a foot of crap thats built up over many years blar blar
  13. not for one minute saying saying iam the only man for the job and the only guy with the kit and access is a dream however that price he gave is doing it for free. open forum opinions are opinions an thats mine. i would like to know how hes so cheap. and just spoke to another guy who does stumps and he said the same maybe were just too expensive

  20. my instructor said he did his own blades hes in kent tunbridge wells area could pass him on to you if that mite help may be able to help you
  21. love the comments about the hedge lol.... had a message in the office today off a lovely gentleman asking me to give him a price on removal for some stumps hes doing a self build / renovation of this big house. anyways someone passing today said he would do the job for him for £450 so with that inside information in mind i go off to see the job. its easy £900/ £1000 job and thats reasonable it is on a pavement's edge and services everywhere. so i rang him back and just said can we have a meeting on site to discuss before i give you the price , anyways i asked if you don't mind telling me how was this "guy" going to do the stumps? he said well he didn't say he just said he could do them but it would have to be this week as the he is off on holiday next week hahaha. In a nasty kind of way i don't want to get the job so i can watch this guy remove the stumps and probably the pavement and services as well haha
