  1. Driven on flat, even ground and at a slow speed it's absolutely fine, but carrying heavy stuff regularly definitely needs a dedicated trailer. Cheers, steve
  2. Based on my earlier cardboard template I made this out of an old farm gate, works amazingly well. All held together with cheapo small nuts & bolts. Eventually it bent a bit when I loaded it up a bit too silly with a massive load of half composted brash. I think a welded version would last a very long time. One day I'll make a version that can be tipped (so it pivots off the back edge). This photo is with 3 buckets of soil in the dozer loader +1 bucket of soil at the front to help balance it out:
  3. Not sure? If it's on flat ground then I think it's just a case of how much the dozer blade can lift.... which from my experience of carrying wet soil is a surprising amount!
  4. Excellent, thanks Doobin. Just need to find a 16mm one in stock. Seems too many people have read this post and ordered!
  5. Ah yes, good call. I usually use standard drill bits but guess this is what you mean:
  6. Cheers, good idea. However, have decided to keep it simple.... drill two holes with the cordless drill. Haven't got access to a plasma cutter or welder or mains electricity so going for the simplest option. Probably get one of these.... rated 1500kg on the ball and 3000kg on the pin:
  7. Ah right! Cheers, finally got to the bottom of it. But what does the 'A' actually stand for word wise? Gross 'Action', Gross 'Angle' etc, etc?? The trailer plate says the gross axle weight is 1300kg and the GA is 1400kg. The maximum nose weight for the tow hitch on the car is specified at 60kg.... yet it's rated to pull a maximum of 1300kg on a braked trailer. ????? Very confusing. Cheers, steve
  8. Sorry mate but I don't understand what you're explaining? Any chance you can draw a doodle of it? However it works it needs to consist of a 50mm tow ball. Cheers, steve
  9. It's written on a sticker on an Anssems trailer. Maybe GA is the German equivalent of GW?? Cheers, steve
  10. Cheers Eddie, thankyou, great idea. Unfortunately there is very little room between the back of the dozer blade and the cab. Pretty sure when rotating the cab the engine compartment would knock into the receiver hitch box section. Cheers, Steve
  11. I paid £900 for a used Anssems, much better than the UK rubbish out there! Just joking
  12. Haha! I'll be using a cordless drill too. Do you tow big trunks using a chain attached to the ball? Cheers, steve
  13. The Ifors are strong, but heavy. Check out the Anssems PSX1300 (dropside platform braked trailer). Strong but not too heavy, well made (German) & with 1600kg running gear. Did I mention versatile? Also check out the Humbaur Loady (1300kg tipper).... but expensive and probably not in stock anywhere! Cheers, Steve
  14. Thanks for help. Think I'll drill a couple 16mm holes and bolt/unbolt. Just need to remember to leave a spanner in the cab. Next question is: Any benefit in fitting a ball & pin type hitch (instead of just ball on it's own)? Just wondering if the pin might be useful for dragging trees out of the woods? Cheers, steve
  15. Looking to tow a small trailer with a mini digger and wondering the best way to attach a towball. Presumably the towball is attached to the dozer blade? Is there a way of doing this so that the towball can be easily removed/ quick release mechanism? (ie, leaving the dozer blade clear for scooping soil with the bucket). Cheers, Steve
  16. Thanks for this, very helpful. What is GA?
  17. GTW.... Gross Train Weight = Total Weight of towing vehicle (fully loaded) + Total weight of trailer (fully loaded). The total weight of both should not be more than the GTW Did I get that right? https://www.gov.uk/towing-with-car/car-towing-weight-and-width-limits
  18. Getting to the nitty gritty of what trailer weight abbreviations actually mean: GW = Gross weight GA = ? Gross axle? Confusing.... Any other abbreviations explained in this thread, hopefully!.... Cheers, Steve
  19. I spray all of our firewood with dry ice, works a treat.
  20. Have you seen the film Déjà Vu?
  21. Could try letting the back tyres down, flat, and inflate the front ones, hard! p.s.... or drive up a set of car ramps.
  22. Got one USA Fender Tele '52 reissue. It's simple, functional, plays & sounds amazing (through a 60's top boost AC30).
  23. The best always use Fender.
  24. Fender every time.
  25. Great concept and excellently done. Really like it. Cheers, steve
