  1. That was our plan.... until everything got covered in, um, cheers, steve

    Chainsaws.

I have: Small: Silky Natanoko 330mm Medium: Husky 550xpg Large: Stihl MS880 I reckon that covers the lot and only two need fueling. cheers, Steve
  3. The other thread is the right one.
  4. p.s.... sounds like the wee thing is from getting super excited to see you! Our JR will still do a wee if he is super excited!
  5. Our JackR took a good 8 months or more to get properly house trained. I think pups tend to have a short period of time in bladder control, but that time gets much longer as they grow. It's annoying having to clean up but it will get better (given time)...along with encouragement by saying "go wee wee" at command (outdoors/ not in the living room!) cheers, steve
  6. Our Jack Russell was humping anything & everything. His speciality was humping Elmer (a patchwork elephant toy doll) whilst staring at us in a wide eyed stare "look at me doing Elmer, hurr, hurr, hurr" kind of way. It was kinda surreal and we quickly arranged to have him done... and it worked, thank god! cheers, Steve
  7. Wouldn't a tree that is resting on something other than a tree also be considered as being 'hung up'.... eg, if the crown is perched in the roof of a house, or double decker bus, etc? cheers, steve
  8. It's been a while but for the first I actually got to mill some oak today. Fun I'm making a couple of gates.... all heartwood. The 880 is a beast, frightening what it can chew through. Can anyone tell me what size combi spanner I need for the 880?.... the bar nuts are 19mm but I don't know what the spark plug size is? cheers, Steve
  9. Yeah that looks jolly splendid. cheers, steve
  10. Sod to this thread!! Bah!! Been fine for ages, until today... was reversing a trailer and the annoying reverse sensors were constantly beeping as a continuous tone (which is fine)... but then I put my ear muffs on (after turning off the engine) and I got the reverse beeping noise. Took the ear muffs off to check the car and it was in neutral. Ear muffs back on and I got the reverse sensor continuous tone. It's been like that all day. Sod to this thread!! cheers, Steve
  11. You do realise this is a forum for...um, ....I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice for that. cheers, steve
  12. Yeah I like the concept of that - reasonably priced too. Only trouble I foresee is that I don't want a big trailer which means less space to fit all the electrical/hydraulic power pack gubbins. cheers, Steve
  13. Burnt walnuts?
  14. What are those burnt looking things? How see shed going? cheers, Steve
  15. What is single & double acting? There are two aux pipes on the dipper arm... does that mean it's double acting? And the dozer blade goes up and down with a lever, is that also double acting because the lever goes forwards and backwards? Sorry if I sound like a simpleton. cheers, Steve p.s.... what is dead ending??
  16. Okay that sounds fairly simple. What are the problems with the pressure relief valve? Would it damage it or not deliver enough pressure to lift the trailer? cheers, steve
  17. I hadn't thought about tapping into the dozer blade... That would be super. Is it easy to do? I'm crap at working out hydraulic technology. cheers, steve
  18. After a bit of advice.... I'm looking into getting a small tipping trailer (1.5t agricultural/ smallholding size that would normally be used behind a compact tractor or ATV). I'd like to tow it with a Takeuchi TB016 and plug the hydraulic pipe into one of the auxiliary hoses fitted to the dipper (which works via the foot pedal in the cab). Would that work? I'd also like to tow the trailer with a 4x4.... but how can I tip the trailer?.... Is a 12v portable hydraulic unit suitable for that? Basicly, I don't want to buy a tractor if I can get away with it. Any suggestions? cheers, Steve
  19. Shouldn't this bit of news be in the mower thread? cheers, steve
  20. My Florabest strimmer takes 40:1 but that's a bit of a pain when everything else is 50:1.... so I'm gonna start using it at 50:1.... has already done a mountain of work so I don't care if it seizes. cheers, Steve
  21. I used a micro Takeuchi for a day and was constantly swearing at it. Incredibly unstable piece of kack. cheers, Steve
  22. I found it quite easy on my 550xp.... sawing the spring in half makes it much easier to compress cheers, Steve
  23. The bone oak I'm looking to bend is quite small in diameter and will be used for rose arches. cheers, Steve That's a great video.... very simple. Love it! I'm sold on the boil in a bag... cheers, Steve
  24. Not thought of that & liking the idea of being able to steam already bent pieces. Do you use a regular bin bag? cheers, steve
  25. Sounds smokey! cheers, steve
