  1. Stunning house - you are very talented and they cant take that away from you. Obviously its early days to decide where or what you do next... meanwhile, i send my best wishes towards your future... cheers, steve
  2. Another biodegradable tree guard.... by eco ezee... (North Wales). I've requested a bit more info from them.... anybody used these or got any thoughts? http://biocycle.co.uk/ Cheers, Steve
  3. Something else I've noticed is that with this jacket people seem to think I'm the man in charge, when I'm not!!... I hate that!!
  4. I say, overall, its a good value for money jacket.... and its bright so is good for roadside work. The only downsides I've found is that the hood is enormous, very enormous - but i have a little head (no further comments about that please Mr Bolam!) The pit zips are great but unfortunately the pit zips aren't as strong as all of the other zips on the jacket.... they tend to catch/ get stuck too easy and one of mine was a bit crap in operation from day one. The material seems strong and long lasting.... and mine hasn't leaked yet. Had it about a year now. cheers, steve p.s.... agree with what Joe says above. Basically, if you are really going for it then you'll get hot and sweaty. So the question is; Do you want to wear the SIP and be hot and sweaty or don't wear the jacket and get cold and wet?!
  5. Halloween face..., and sod it, I've had enough of trying to get it out. One drill-bit broken is enough. Looks like it would be really loud as well, so a new one it is... Cheers, Steve
  6. Here's an upside down photo of the exhaust outlet.... it's the round circular thing that's come adrift. Is that normally welded to the underside of the outlet port?
  7. I can't stand the rattling sound, it's already doing my nut in. So it's either a new one or hack this one about. I don't own a dremmel. cheers, steve
  8. Saying that.... it doesn't look so easy.
  9. Was cutting through some oak today and I've now got something rattling around in the exhaust of my 550xpg.... shaking it sounds like a metal money box now! I can see something is rolling around inside the muffler. A new one is £40 I don't want to spend £40 so gonna have a go at removing it... cheers, steve
  10. Ditto to that question - I've wondered about this before...
  11. I'm just wondering, for an arb related forum why you changed the title to orbtalk? As a goodwill gesture why haven't you sent each and every member a box of chocolates? I was also hoping for clarification on whether it should be stihl or husqvarna? Apart from that I think it's all jolly marvellous. cheers, steve
  12. Good to have the extra two below as backup in case the top one fails.
  13. Far as I can tell the Kubota STV's look good & strong, good shout but unfortunately the total width is too wide for us (they are nearly 1.4m wide). cheers, steve
  14. My new nipples work perfectly and without leakage, nice shine to them too I would like to share photos but you know how it is!... Cheers, Steve
  15. Good but should have gone further.... to try and offset the loss of habitat they could have made him plant a 10,000 trees on top of that fine, as a community service. cheers, steve
  16. We need something narrow to go between our horticulture beds..... which have paths about 1.3m wide, so small-ish old tractors, like the Massey 35, are a tad too wide (unfortunately cuz I've always wanted one). We'll also be using the tractor to tug n skid some lengths of timber out of the woods ...so 4wd would help with doing that (and West Wales gets a lot of rain most of the year). I can and do fix and service machines so got no worries there.... but would rather spend more £'s on something that doesn't need fixing to begin with (as I need to get on with doing jobs). cheers, steve
  17. Thanks for that top tip Sheepy. I have been looking for something around the 35hp mark. Kubota ST STa models seem to range between 30hp and 40hp.... do you know anything about those? Seem to be a few used ones about. cheers, steve
  18. The hydraulic shop said the little part of the right angled nipple is M6 with 0.75 thread, so I can go ahead and order a bunch now Good shout on going to a tractor shop.... and yeah I guess they probably have them in stock. Cheers, Steve
  19. I've tried looking up the size of my nipples on the internet but its more complicated than i thought. ....didn't know nipples could come in so many shapes and sizes. Cheers, steve
  20. The outside diameter of the threaded bit looks like it's 6mm. Does that mean it's an M6? cheers, Steve
  21. Darn, I've got weeping nipples.... what size are they? It's on a Takeuchi tb016 I only need the little part of the nipple, ie, not the right angles section. Figured I may as well buy a pack as others are starting ooze a bit of grease. But what size do I need?
  22. DiggerPartsDirect quoted a very reasonable £7 each side... nice helpful service too cheers, Steve
  23. Makes me wonder how they deal with contaminated waste.... could be contaminated with alsorts, not just weed seeds. cheers, Steve
  24. Alot of horticulture growers would use chip and they are all over the country, so you could try targeting that network. However, we've stopped promoting and accepting chip ourselves due to the risk of importing Himalayan Balsam, Japanese Knotweed, etc.... not sure how you could get over that? Maybe if the chip is hot composted then it wouldnt be an issue but most people probably apply it straight to beds for mulch or in between beds for paths. cheers, steve
