  1. We are in Pembrokeshire National Park and our farm sits on shale. I wrote to our Tory MP about Fracking before the general election.... he is of the opinion that fracking is okay, he's also done nothing to stop our hospital services being taken away. The way it's going I foresee alot of the general public receiving criminal convictions for criminal damage to oil drilling equipment. They ain't listening mate. cheers, steve
  2. As far as I can gather the variety gene pool of Ash is much wider than Elm; so it's a very different beast. To me, it's far too little and far too late.... it's like peeing into these regular gale force winds we keep getting! Cheers, steve
  3. Here follows practical steps (as suggested by The Woodland Trust dieback campaign) that can be taken to prevent the spread of ash die back.... http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/tree-diseases-and-pests/what-we-are-doing/biosecurity/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=wt_treedisease_bd_december2015 I just hope the 65 million UK residents, especially the 24% of UK households that own a dog, and 35 million registered UK car drivers have read this. Cheers, steve
  4. If you're looking at a tin roof check out the secret fix 'vieo' system by Euroclad.... you should be able to download various technical drawings, u value ratings, etc which may help you to finalise drawing dimensions. Vieo Metal Roof and Wall System Alternatively, look at the proper zinc roofing (much more expensive) by e.g, VM Zinc... VMZinc cheers, steve
  5. Yeah, I've been watching Guy Martin as well. good shout. cheers, Steve
  6. We were watching (not really watching) BBC News 24.... been skimming through the free view channels trying to find a good sci-movie but couldn't find one. They tend to put on war films and the usual violent film nonsense stuff that doesn't have a very good storyline. cheers, steve
  7. Same here.... no headaches or acid flem throat with Aspen. Cheers, steve
  8. Dead right with that cheers, steve
  9. 'Propaganda Today'.... Boing!.... that frog jumped all the way from Russia into your minds. Boing!....
  10. I'd buy one for our TB016..... RSL engineering, or whoever should have a go at making one. cheers, Steve
  11. Not sure if this is right but I've been told that splits in oak will naturally occur from a knot to the next knot.... so it's good to have knots so long as they are in the right place, ie not where a mortice & tenon needs to be. Is that right? cheers, steve
  12. Apart from where there is already a tree there is room for a tree.... especially chemically laden golf courses, and mile upon mile of fencing where there used to be big hedges & trees. More trees everywhere please. cheers, Steve p.s... and sheep should be banned from the Lake District so it can return to forest.
  13. Post some images up here when you've milled it.... would be good to see. I have a couple of trunks of ash on the ground that need milling too, felled about 18 months ago. cheers, Steve
  14. Would be good to see a bolt-on hydraulic version of that, especially with longer jaws. cheers, steve
  15. Having already got a Milwaukee M18 Fuel cordless drill & couple of 4ah batteries I added one of these to the collection.... it's an M18 Fuel circular saw with a 190mm blade. Obviously uses more battery power to run that a cordless drill but it is very impressive. For bigger all day jobs I could do with getting one of the big Fuel batteries. Things I particularly like about it are; hanging hook, LED light, depth of cut, the blade stops spinning soon after the trigger is released, very light but solid, powerful.
  16. Would you put the soldiers that are throwing down their medals outside No10 in the same category?
  17. Yes, an overwhelming increase in Labour membership has done the Labour Party no good whatsoever.
  18. Best picture I've seen for ages.
  19. I like that too! More of that please!
  20. Haven't seen a hedgehog for years and years and used to see them regularly as a lad. It's sad so much of our wildlife is disappearing before our very eyes.... it's not being taken seriously enough. baaaaaah!!!
  21. Corbyn is soooo so bad.... thank goodness we have a government that endorses fracking, wars, TTIP, tax avoidance, more homeless people, extortionate house prices, pollution, neonicotinoids and bullying. cheers, steve
  22. Jon has got his own unique form of communication and sense of humour.... I like it, he's an original. If you don't understand what he's said then try widening your perspective and try to piece it all together. Sometimes you won't be able to, but with more practice you might.... Above all, be respectful. chairs, Steve
  23. Throwing this into the mix.... Forestry Trailers - Treadlight Forestry 'Treadlightforestry' is a member on Arbtalk so may be worth contacting them. He messaged me and said the basic trailer without the crane would be £1800 +vat +delivery Obviously a lot more money than some, but looks like a strong trailer. cheers, steve
  24. Looks good in the video. Do you find the arms a bit bulky?.... maybe the one in the video is too big for him? Ridgeline Pintail Smock
  25. Would be good to see your final design!.... cheers, steve
