I keep mine just like a scene from the film 'Saw'
  3. When you say 'Brown Oak' does that refer to any species of oak that has been lying on the ground for a while and turned brown as it starts to rot?.... or is it from a variety of oak? cheers, steve

  19. I was thinking along the same lines as you, of using bow shackles.... then realised the choker chain would be more of a multiple use solution. The 3000kg strop loops should fit okay into your cable hook. cheers, steve
  20. That'll do it. What are you using the bow shackles for? cheers, steve
  21. I was looking at getting a 4t pulley with my setup but was warned that it can do the manual winch cable in.... so I didn't get one in the end. Maybe the pulleys are okay to use once in a while? cheers, steve
  22. I recently ordered a few things to go with my Tirfor TU16 (1600kg) winch.... - 2x 3000kg yellow straps (eyelet to eyelet) each at 3m length - 1x Grade 80 10mm lifting/ choker chain with 'clevis forest hook' option, at 3m length..... see here: 10mm Single Leg Lifting Chain - Single Leg - Grade 80 Lifting Chains - Lifting Chains You could get away with an 8mm choker chain and it would be lighter to carry - I just got the 10mm because I'll also be using it with machinery. cheers, steve
  23. He wouldn't have mentioned the wine if it weren't for this thread..... MY THREAD.... MY WINE!!!!
  24. Good man. Less drinking also often includes less cross dressing
