  8. Hi guys, first apologise if this is in the wrong thread. Basically trying to find a list of companies that carry out highway work, or rail work, preferably highway though in and around Yorkshire. Im wanting to get into this side of the industry so any help would be great, have done some highway work in the past. I'm based in selby if that's helps. Thanks in advance Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Sorry confused here, why do you guys have rope grabs, positioners, cinch etc then a extra prussik? Please explain? And joe logs what is that knot you have got to shorten it? I have a 6m strop and sick of it dangling around with daisy chain Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. This is a question is ask myself every day. Only 23 at the moment, but you gotta think of these things and make a plan! I have looked into rope access, but seems you need another trade, welde, electrician etc. so you'll struggle to get a foot in the door. Always work for window cleaners though I suppose especially round London. I plan on been a utility surveryor in the future, or just doing completely different away from arb Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  12. 365 great saw! Oldest we have but better than 372 and 390 for reliability. That 365 just never breaks, doesn't rev as hard but bullet proof, get one! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. Massive! Big respect, you sure know how to get the job done! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Absolutely terrible saws. Good when running but always breaking! I'm not rough with saws and it takes the wee! Don't think auto tune helps, consider swapping mine for a old 200 we have Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Brilliant work there, Good pics, well done buddy! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. I sell a fair few bulk bags, I load them by hand and unload them by hand just rag them out. Simples. I tell customer, if they don't need the bag can I have it. Always managed to keep them so far. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Give income assured a ring! 20 a month, cover 60 percent of your income cover all arb, and extreme sports! Best money I have ever spent Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. The rate varies so much. I have been in arb 2 years, on 18k. But have done lots of climbing, learnt from a very very good climber. Now pretty much the main climber where I work and get chucked up some massive stuff and get it done in a good speed. Don't know whether to ask for more of not, feel like I am been taken advantage of slightly though. Why are wages low for the work, bit de moralising sometimes, guess that's just the way it is now a days! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. Been looking into isa a bit more. Think it's more for me. Wouldn't mind doing utility surveying in. Few years so want it for that. The isa and rfs are both level 2, and both well recognised. A Anyone got a isa arb book that they want to sell? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Honestly don't buy one of these saws, brilliant for the 1st week but after that thy are the biggest piece of shat ever! They are a absolute joke, one I'm using is 6 months old spent the Last 3-4 going in and out for repairs Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. 18 stoner, I didn't say my life is too hectic to do it. Realistically I work around 12 hours days with travelling! Anyway not the point, i just didn't want it to take over my life for 2 years. If I could work 2-3 nights a week on it that would be great which is what I am asking? Does the isa arb credited actually mean anything or is the level 2 rfs more respected? The isa does sound like its More for me in the way that you can do it whenever you want and it is just a exam! Experiences with any of these would help, it says 1 year on the Internet for rfs level 2, but then some people were saying 2-3 years and its very difficult, anyone shed some Light? Thanks Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Great, I haven't seen the isa one before. Been looking at it, is it American? I have seen you can buy the audio cd but you can also get a book too I think it's around 135 dollars which is 70 quid maybe? Has anyone ever done this qual? If there additional costs when booking the exams etc? I'm really stuck between 2 mins p, the rfs looks great however just think it will be too much stress, I don't cope well with been pressured, and coursework, would much rather do the exams. I just want it for the future, when I'm too old to climb i can fall back on something just to say I have it really. Any more advice greatly appreciated as I feel my brain about to explode haha Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Been looking into the online rfs level 2 in arb at myerscough. I work full time so would have to do this online. What I'm asking is this too much to fit between at 40+ working week? Also roughly how long does it take to complete? Is the any other qualifications that might be suitable that would give me some sort of qual that might not be so demanding? Or possibly crash courses? I have been arb 2 years now and have a bit of general knowledge so I'm not totally green on it all Thanks! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. Yeh got a few good grounded with me! Can't get pics of the job doing it Monday! Will take small bits off, nothing out of my depth. Yeh I would also say plants could do with coming out but not upto me would make it so much easier Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  25. Great thanks for the advice, and wise words! The tree is in a horrible spot, greenhouse underneath, and the guy is very precious about his flowers, been there before and that's all he was bothered about! Actually looking forward to it, should be a good challenge. Just what I wanted to hear about spider jack, I have always wondered but like You say it's not far so should be ok!
