  1. Thanks...it took a while to find one I liked and within my price range and mileage as I keep my trucks for quite a few years...but getting back to you and your choices if for a family a 3.0 Wildtrak 2008/9/10 would be perfect, the ride is lovely, very comfy and loads of room and miles per gallon very reasonable...if your pushed me I would have to say my 2007 3.0 Wildtrak was a smoother ride then my 2015 and the gearbox much better as well.
  2. For the past 20 years I have had Rangers my first one was a 2000 single cab for work and I had it for 10 years and never had any problems with it,at the same time I had a black double cab2002 for best and had that for 7 years and again no problems. I traded both in + cash for a 2007 Ranger Wildtrak Arb Tipper and later got a 2006 Ranger Wildtrak for best.i still have my Wildtrak Tipper and is on 2223k and goes and pulls fab. I sold my 2006 Wildtrak 3.0 last year and brought a 2015 3.2 Wildtrak. so if there’s is any doubt about what truck you should be looking at go for a Ranger Wildtrak 3.0...there are some really nice older models ones out there at the moment get a 2008/9/10 if you can and you won’t be disappointed.
  3. Yes stub’s bad situation and he lost a load of weight and his cherpy happy happy go lucky way he used to have....have spoken to him a few times...he txts or leaves a message and you respond but no answer...am sure he is ok and was only thinking other day to give him another call.
  4. Ya shame...he’s been though some tough times over the last few years..just looking at him brings a smile to my face.
  5. Sounds like all the top half of you is Uk and bottom half a bit of something else🤔🦊 and yes bet your life we will catch up again....God how I miss the camping, meeting up with al, the lads and having just a great weekend....the simple things mean so much.
  6. Here you go silkster...blast from the past your old Navarna & My Old Ranger at the camp site back of the Holford Arms...think it was 2014 Arb Show...just seeing your Old Navarna in the snow reminded me of your truck..your heritage is Viking then🦊⚔️
  7. Yes agree Ref rollers...have had my new Evo165p for a couple of months now and the horizontal rollers and pull through are really good...but the 130 is still a good little Chipper and is well capable of doing what you require from a Chipper that size and more.
  8. I had a 130 and it was a fab little Chipper and punched well above its weight..I had it for just under 3yrs and never had any problems with it and traded it in for a 150p.you can get good deals on a new one....you won’t be disappointed.
  9. Very interesting read even the first few pages are an eye opener....funny how something like that has never occurred to me before yet seems so relevant with the state of the world at the moment.
  10. Forgive me if this subject has been covered already but just a question I need to ask. i was driving down the M50 today coming back from a job in Ross On Wye...the weather was cold but dry crisp and sunny and not many vehicles on the road so as I was driving along i notched that the road surface was kinder white and dusty and obviously this is from the dry salt/gravel mix that has been spread on the roads during this cold spell, now the M50 is along stretch of road and lined both sides with well established trees and it got me thinking that all those tons of salt mix must at some point get washed down towards the tree line and was wondering if this mass of salt has a detrimental affect on the trees has in either stunting there growth or eventually just killing them in time....as there ever been a study into this or am I getting it completely wrong.?????
  11. With all due respect it’s a bit different scenario to yours as she has set her heart on doing something she loves and may not be in a position same as yourself..if you have done your time in the fire service you will have a good pension to relay on....the tree business is a different animal and most of us earn a crust and get by but I guarantee we all do it for the freedom of working in the woods/with trees and around nature and for the love of the job...making loads of ££££££££££ is a bonus....stick with it Sam and as sure has the sun rises you will for fill your dream.
  12. It’s more then likely a simple case of another woman being jealous of how another woman’s looks and being intimidated by it,i bet you if you were 18 stone,a little lip hair and 2 teeth she wouldn’t have a problem..in my experience woman are and can be very catty were other woman are concerned, blokes aren’t the same....so if I were you I would take it more of a compliment then anything else so just move on track your dream and you,ll be fine.
  13. Good one K always rely on you to lighten up the day👌
  14. I bet your owed millions by now Mark👍
  15. Kev I have been reading bits and pieces all week but only in the small print none specified parts of the news but today it seems like he is on the verge of making some announcements over the next few days.
  16. So the chancellor is seriously thinking about hitting the Self Employed with higher taxes to try a scrape back some of the Billions he has given out which was always going to happen and will be interesting how he goes about doing that and good luck to him if he can pull it off....don’t be surprised if the fuel price starts to rocket up and road tax....the % of people who work knew this was coming it was only a matter of time and not sure who it will hit the most, the small one man band or the big guns....i’am no money expert and get by as I always have but these are very strange times and it’s not over yet...and you have got to be some kind of idiot if all this money he has loaned out and the grants he has given wouldn’t have to be paid back sooner rather then later....there are more intelligent guys on here who know more about the workings of VAT etc then me and be interesting to hear other views...even though I haven’t claimed for anything I would be happy to pay a little extra as long as i’am earning as I don’t want the country to become bankrupt,it’s bad enough as it is with everything else going on.
  17. It’s a case that that’s what I have always had and always the 3.0 Rangers..my main tip sites for chip and brash are at the bottom of a old orchard and it gets really bogie during winter and 4 wheel drive is perfect plus I can tow my Chipper at 70+ mph with full load and no bother and also there has been many times that if I didn’t have a 4x4 I would have been in the shit..literally.
  18. Sorry I misunderstood you and didn’t realise it was already a tipper you were after...obviously If it already has the main tipper frame, ram etc it won’t cost anywhere near what I said more like £2k/£2.5k. or less.
  19. I’am in the same position at the moment but i’am looking at getting another ranger king or super cab but the newer shape something like 2013/14 but having trouble finding one at mo and when I do I will be having a tipper conversion for the sole reason it works out cheaper as opposed to buying one already converted. Average price for a decent Ranger,Toyota 4x4 already converted is anything from £18k to £30 and all plus VAT so I have decided to buy the truck and then have a conversion so been looking for a while now and if all works out I can possibly get a decent ranger for £10k and a good tipper conversion for around £5k. for a tipper conversion on a transit, iveco etc I have seen prices for around £7k but like everything else if you shop around you could find cheaper, you just got to watch all the add on’s that they don’t mention until you start talking to them.
  20. To be fair I didn’t really need the harness as I also have a brand new notch I brought the previous year from thr Arb Show but I knew I had that,as for the Silky your spot on Mike I really needed that so that’s why I brought it but just simply forget as I have been using Samurai for the past 7/8 years. pete under normal circumstances that would be viable reason to hide stuff from the other half be livening on my own it doesn’t count👍
  21. Was having a clear out of my built in cupboard this morning as I was looking for something and came across 2 bits of kit I brought at the last A.P.F show 2018 a new harness and and a silky Gun Fighter Pruning saw so was thinking it must be true that a lot of the time we tend to buy stuff we don’t really need otherwise in this case I would surely have remembered that I had spent around £400 on kit that I didn’t even realise I had got.?????
  22. Ya I guess the ARB SHOW would be boarder line due to timescale and all the work that goes into organising it...shame who would have thought it would probably be 2022 till that show is on again.
  23. Just gone on there website and managed to find out its all good to go as of today with still 6 months to go they are very confident it will on ,23rd,24th & 25th of September..yippee at least something to look forward to and gives a little hope of a little normality.🙏
  24. Has anybody herd anything or has any knowledge if this years A.P.F SHOW will be on or is it still to early for the organisers to have made a decision yet? i had the option to keep my tickets from last year or have a refund and I took the decision to keep the tickets in the hope the show would be on this year.🙏
