  1. My srt combo zigzag with rw with a 27cm tether gives me a lot of sitback when after ascending; you try to descend. Is this due to the lenght of the tether? In the petzl combo zz plus chicane, the lenght of tether seems to be around 15cms max?
  2. in southern europe sometimes over 40 cs, drink water, salt, sugar/honey, lemon.Dont touch isotonics as they are full of shit and dehidrate more then the opposite. Use f50 uv longsleeves, not sunscreen. I passed out twice on the canopy was not fun, but one learns to avoid it.
  3. some time ago cut a Ficus carica, got splashed with some sap, it was cloudy. Next day some spots and itchy, learned about photodermatitis, burns activated by sun light, it was not nice
  4. @Paul Cleaver the collapsed side is facing south only. When summer arrives that spot get 40ºc, i expected severe dry burning of all possible growing nodules, also the age of the tree plays big part in its development and they are reluctant in producing new leaves at the center, at least in this hot environment. But I do believe there are a few more 100's of life in it
  5. @Mr. Squirrel just enough reduction to keep council workers and phone line crews away from it, as the tree had some branches within their reach😁
  6. during first inspection on my propping
  7. living in southern europe, average 30c degrees, coolest trousers ever is Sip Samourai red color
  8. so I think I am a tree man cause there was lots of joy in the end from not killing it, more pleasure then any huge tree being rigged with complex techniques. A few centuries more of standing, more pics will come when desert sands finish and sunlight returns.

  12. Thread tittle as a wrong name in Flow should be Control. So got another Petzl rope this time is Flow 1.6mm and as bad as the previous, 1 first meter is very bumpy. My splice seems way better then Petzl, tighter eye, which hasn't moved, changed or deformed after 5month use, just a bit to big for passin the ZZ. I am very happy and will do it again, when used enough I going to cut open my splice to compare with Petzl's
  13. @Dan Maynard the upper branches are not possible to frame, they will not go for bracing either
  14. From a place where not many trees are left, this mighty oak Quercus ilex dated 800 years had 1/3 of canopy down with rain and wind, got called for it and recommended a crown reduction to what was left. Tree is a picnic spot with bbqs, all the standing mass is facing the sidewalk and road. The tear is about 1mx0,8m. Would you take this course of action?
  15. Hi the best way to drill a 1"x6" tunnel in pine wood? Better dry or fresh?
