    Post borer

Stihl bt121 good as gold for fencing , planting removing shrubs . If you hit something it's obviously gonna have a problem , but then so does my drain spade ,recommend it.
  4. Set up a tank with a gallon or two of diesel the rest whatever fluid you can think of , works better after a few beers guaranteed to make you feel better allround .
  5. Quercus mate goes well with all my stihl kit , looks rather fetching next to my gb axes and silkys , much to wife's disgust all equipment on boards in house in full view . The 121 is great drives the big bits with ease got a brake on it so no dead leg on a jam ,great for planting ,great for digging stuff out best of all its a stihl .
  6. Just had a superb fry up,ticker still goin just , now off to sort standing pine with a phone line beneath . Joys of self employment

    Dog dilema

Big j ain't been on this site long sorry to hear about your loss that really sucks. Regarding the dog couldn't you tell her you've got really attached and want to keep her , then borrow her for the odd visit if need be. If your sure she won't go for it then its the doggy heaven route . Good luck
  9. I've had a pair of these for 9yrs bought some hs80s but found them to heavy for prolonged use . The 45s are really light but will struggle on thicker stuff most reliable bit of kit I've had.
  10. Silky sugowaza cuts insanely fast I've got a few silkys but IMO this is the best on bigger stuff. I also looked at the katanaboy but felt it was to big and replacement blades are mad money.
  11. Mate I was given one of these by a customer , as I've got a couple of proper Hondas I used it now and again but it fell apart around the engine, might have just been a bad one . If you've got a fair size lawn get a Honda or hayter
  12. Looks like a mountfield or similar the name plate will be on front of deck . Don't try to use it commercialy it will have a smallish grass box and thin handle bars which eventually snap best engine though.
  13. Got a Mazda b series never let me down 2500 lump bit juicy but I only work local 2wd so gets stuck in wet fields allround great truck.
  14. Carp fishing , avoiding wife.
  15. Hi lads , dunno if this helps dealer service last yr on 441 Pick up body Spark plug Sort exhaust rattle Bar dress Chain sharpen £63.38 Saw came back running sweet .
  16. Way to go lot safer and easier on carcass . When were both done we should put pics up put it to vote. Good on your grandad , I ain't retiring if the wife's still about.
  17. Not a nelly at all .I only got into this stuff cos of age I'm pushing 50 ,that's probably why I've got an adversion to chemicals. Only use a saw now if both feet planted ,comes to us all sooner or later eh mate.
  18. Oak that's superb as suspected you don't need advice , still wouldn't use chemicals though.By the way 5th stripe on the left is pissed
  19. Like Eddie, I wouldn't use glyphosate it will leech into soil. sounds like you know what to do. I've got a croquet lawn to do if you're interested lol.....
  20. I work on two estates and prefer terra firma a bit more these days. sounds like existing lawn is knackered which could be a poor soil or related problem. I'd scalp turf off with digger, rotorvate deep as you can to relieve compaction, level site and rake in a pre seed fertiliser and turf the fertiliser. This will help if he's got poor soil.
  21. Go for gomatro or zubat , I've just got a silky sugowaza 420 not cheap but will go through them conifers in no time..
  22. I've got two km85 and one 130 with extension poles , prefer the old 85 revs higher best of all you can split these apart and put em in a stihl bag and store em under bed.
