  1. I used to wear Haix , changed to Airstreams and never went back . Fit my Bashlin spikes no problem , super comfy and last too . TS
  2. The older type Husqvarna type A , ( classic ) I think ? Boy that works with me wears them and he's a 42" waist and big legs . Usually see them on flea bay , pretty cheap too from memory . TS
  3. Good job ! TS
  4. Buy new and look after it , always keep your fuel fresh , that's my advise . A secondhand pro saw is an option , if you know it's history . TS
  5. I do now , found out the painful way !! I thought I'd be ok with just the mowing guard . TS
  6. You guys are giving me depression , I'm 52 and still climbing , I thought I was doing ok ! Not a fast as I used to be for sure . Maybe I should be thinking of hanging up my spurs !! Go for it YOUNG MAN , yer just a pup .
  7. I run an FS500 , the shredder blade is the one you want . Also agree with Charlieh , I find the Stihl blades are better than the Oregons . Get yourself a set of those shin gaurds , I got whacked by some flying bit of ?? Last summer , had a lump on my shin like an egg . TS
  8. Yip , me too 100% agree . Don't go there . Do yourself a favour and buy new . TS
  9. Great saw the 266xp , I've had one since the eighties and it still goes like a train , just run quality oil and keep yer fuel clean , they don't come much tougher . TS
  10. Hi Paul , I'm in Meikleour , nearly next door mate !! Been down living at my inlaws in Glasgow for the last 6 weeks , since I had an operation , another few weeks on crutches and I'll be back behind the hedge . TS:
  11. I'm a 36" waist in CS trousers and large fits me no problem with me wooly longs underneath , miles tougher than the Hi Flex's I used to wear , looking back I recon I got them roughly 6 months ago and have worn them most days since and the seem to be doing really well . TS
  12. I wear stretch air myself , but left them down in Glasgow by mistake a few months back and needed trousers in a hurry , went out and bought a pair of SIP freedom type C and I love them not to expensive either . TS
  13. Here's mine , by Bob Ham in the US .
  14. Quality job mate , looks superb . TS
  15. I used to be a Haix man , changed to Airstreams and never went back , superb boots would recommend them above any other I've tried

  17. I gave a mate of mine some Elm he fancied , turned out some lovely bowls and spoons . TS
  18. I'll have a stab at dead holly ? If not I would say it's Deadwoodburwell ! TS
  19. Cottage next door to me has one , two feet from my garden hedge and eight feet from our bedroom back wall . I can report that unless it's windy the noise is pretty brutal ! I asked for it to be moved , no chance due to cost . So I have bought sheets of sound proof material and I'm going to line my back wall of our bedroom and attic above the room . Laugh is next door neighbour told my wife the electricity bill is four times what it was , due to the fact it runs 24/7 hope they run out of money and we'll get some peace .
  20. I sold my 357 for a 560 and can highly recommend it , with a 15" bar it's a beast . TS
  21. Husky genuine , changed on a stihl never broke another , maybe just bad luck who knows . 560 does not half rev though !
  22. I've a husky 395 xp I would highly recommend it . I run a 28" and a 36" bar on it with no problems . Cheers
  23. I've got 2x 346 xp and xpg both done a power of work . I suspect you have some other problem as Spud says , you need a clued up tech ASAP mate .
