    The BIG C .

Sorry to read this stubby, 60-40 not the worst odds, all the best .
  2. Should maybe have put on “the band” version, but Joan is no bad..
  3. Yep all true, but I don’t mind the cheaper fares when I go to the western isles.[emoji3]
  4. Absolutely compounded by RET! Madness!! Can’t even get booked on a ferry during the summer. RET + Tourist tax= contradiction.
  5. That’s a pretty shallow swipe at the snp, just for the sake of it! They’re no better and no worse than any other political party, also they are where they are by virtue of your beloved democracy. If this tax was targeted to the areas it is intended for (god forbid[emoji849]) it could go a long way to improving infrastructure I.e roads, litter facilities, public conveniences, all of which are diabolically lacking or in disrepair it could only be a good thing. My old head hurts thinking about another seasonal influx of tourists that the island struggles to cope with.

Trust you to try and ruin this thread with this drivel, you racist, sexist, nazi tosser!!
  8. Cheers, my daily commute! Taken yesterday on way home.
  9. Cold but stunning!
  10. Stunning......
  11. 1st pic bleak mid winter, 2nd height of summer. Maximum contrast.
  12. That’s confusing me, because I’ve just put up a pic and it clearly shows snow in God’s own country!
  13. Quality...
  14. Sadly the vast majority of us like access to everything! There’s a price to pay for this accessibility.
  15. Watched The revenant a couple of weeks back, enjoyed it despite it being absolutely ridiculous that any human could survive what Mr Glass did! Looked as it was a wee bit tougher to make a pound back then.
  16. ^^^^^^^^this
  17. Where’s the salesman sitting?
  18. Great tune mark, morello is a terrific guitar player, not much of a singer really, bit like Springsteen himself! Springsteen’s songwriting, guitar playing and band leading made him what he is.
  19. Is this news to anyone?
  20. Intelligent stove designers I’d say.
  21. The figures speak for themselves, although they don’t spell out the importance to the communities concerned which have been kept alive and relevant by young folk being able to continue living and working there, keeping schools, shops, post offices open, and many other occupations not directly linked to the industry. I’m not trying to pick a fight muldonach, I’m just saying what I see and believe. Yes, overfishing of salmon ( which I was employed in as a schoolboy, bagnets) and certainly fish farming have had devastating effects. But, we all need to work and contribute in the area in which we live. Move forward and improve our ways.
  22. Yup, the same principle should apply to every “dirty” industry, no doubt about that. Fish farming will continue as it is, it’s too valuable not to, yes they will try and clean it up, even the the measures for treatments etc creates hundreds of jobs. My objection was to the suggestion it shouldn’t be happening because a few toffs weren’t coming on holiday. I don’t have figures, but living and working here I can see the massive difference the industry has made to people and the economy of this area in the last 30 yrs.
