    Very much so. When dog is working well at sheep on the hill there are few things more satisfying. Although there is not enough work really to keep him on top form. Having said that, if he's having a bad day, there is nothing more frustrating!:-)

    Collies are difficult, they look similar but are completely diffirent characters. Having said that, it dosent matter what breed it is! They're all the same!

    Yep, sad days indeed eggs, was supposed to be our first sheepdog, but was absolutely useless and turned into wife's best friend, and bossed my other dogs that came after him.

    Our old boy, departed from us a fortnight ago, almost 16yrs old.[ATTACH]172656[/ATTACH He was a few years younger in that pic!

  16. I've been told that you should split bottom of the ring up! If you know what I mean?

I think when your splitting rings the axe is only part of the equation, the most expensive axe buried into a knot at the wrong angle won't split the log, also a splitting block that's not solid and on a solid foundation will hinder the job, obvious stuff I know but it all helps. And of course if axe head gets buried, lift axe and log and bring down backwards, 9/10 log will either split or fall off!
