  1. Doritos the crisps or a bog roll holder stuffed with lint from the tumble dryer work well. So does the box my beer comes in but my wife doesn't understand that is why i buy so much
  2. Bugger! The pile of unstacked logs ensured a weekend of good behaviour from my 2 oldest kids but luckily this new made a mess while eating so got roped in! Still not sure on using the bark as kindling - it's really thick and fibrous but how long will it take to dry? Is it worth the hassle?
  3. Well it's all split - now I just need one of the kids to misbehave so I can punish them by stacking everything! Spent too much time lately sitting on my butt so I'm going to hurt in the morning...
  4. I was wondering about the bark! Does it have lots of the oil in? Thanks for that
  5. Sorry but I've already listed it on EBay at a starting price of £100...
  6. :001_rolleyes:My apologies if this has been done already but there's 22 pages of tax related stuff to go through!
  7. After lugging the bigger logs around today I can see how that would work
  8. I've only got the axe but enjoyed some exercise earlier - I will finish tomorrow!
  9. A kindly chap dropped a load of eucalyptus off for free today! Obviously I'm looking forward to the job of splitting it but have heard that it takes up to 2 years to be ready. Anyone know much about it?
  10. If you were only closer to me I would be at your yard more than my house!
  11. My wife will LOVE that I missed that!! My 7yr old and I made a sign for our Man Cave - she wrote the Free Hugs sign on the back and keeps turning it around when we are busy! What a cow
  12. https://m.facebook.com/knifewarehouseuk - great axes here!
  13. I'm looking to get my hands on some large diameter log rounds/slices to use as targets for my new stress relief of throwing axes and knives. I will need to mount them on a stand so they can't be too thick. I'm in the Croydon area if anyone can help. Ps I need large diameter only because my 'friend' has a habit of missing a lot..
  14. This kind of unasked for generosity always makes my day! I'm looking for a price on a full load of seasoned hard wood delivered... anyone?? No? Ah well
  15. Ive picked up plenty logs from freecycle but one time I got there and the 'logs' were still in the 30ft trees! I only had a pair of gloves...
  16. Logs for sale | South Croydon | Gumtree
  17. Splitting by axe when seasoned is a bugger for some woods! I have some unsplit logs that are now on my 'when we have a big garden party fire' pile!
  18. :biggrin:And stack it obviously.
  19. Was given these today - neighbours have a habit of leaving logs in the front garden as they know I will use them!
  20. Or you could always deliver to my house in Croydon...
