  1. My DCS6800i.
  2. That would be great, cheers!
  3. Not sure iv posted this in right place, appologies if i havnt. Been sorting up an early Dolmar 115. Have got her built up and running well, cuts like a demon! Only thing left to sort is she has no chainbrake atall, needs a whole new assembly fitted in clutch cover. Problem is as its a very early model, its brake lever is mounted on clutch side only (as apposed to newer models/makitas which are mounted on both sides of cylinder). From what i can see/have researched its pretty simple to retro-fit the newer brake type to the older saw, need a new lever and top engine cover - along with the assembly for clutch cover - but iv costed out buying new parts and its seriously not worth it. The saw is for my own PERSONAL use only so i could get away without sorting it - but i would much rather have it working correctly. So if anyone has a knackered Dolmar 109, 110, 111 or 115. Or Makita DCS430 or DCS520 which the chainbrake and lever is sound on and would like shift of it id be very interested
  4. Cheers GardenKit, will have a look at the other thread. My gut feeling when talking to him was itl just be one of the fuel lines. But without getting my hands on the saw to check for myself i wasnt sure. Thought i was best looking for piston/cylinder kits to see the prices, just incase. If it was going to be non-cost effective to sort id rather it was taking up space in his shed, as mine Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
  5. There you go mate! Happy bidding No Reserve! Sachs Dolmar 116 Wildcat Chainsaw - Spares or Repairs! | eBay
  6. Cheers Eddy Found alot of info/parts now. Complete cylinder kits seem pretty reasonable, if the saw needs a new one i might put the bigger 40cc kit in her for some more punch.....
  7. Hey all. Neighbour has got a dead Jonsered in the back of his shed, its been laying there for a few years. Iv seen it working/worked along side it a few times. Was talking to him a week or two past when i was sorting up a recent purchase and he said if i can sort it its mine to do what i want with....... From what he can remember, sounds to me like its either lost compression or has a fuel line/carb issue. Havnt got my hands on the saw yet and havnt seen it since before it was put away but its either a 2035 or 2036? - and possibly a turbo? Having a look online i cant find much in the way of info for parts or anything to guage if its worth bothering with. Was also wondering is there a direct Husky equivelent and what model no. would it be? Havnt owned a Husky for 10+ years and know squat-diddley about them or Jonsies so thanks for any info given. Graeme
  8. Threaten them with trading standards..... they are advertising it at that price so they will have to stand by it Even at £378 for the 520 (bloody good, solid saw IMO) youl struggle to get anything else new at that size for less.
  9. +1 Love my Makita and Dolmar Could buy one of them new for the price your looking at a 2nd hand Stihl or Husky which is someone elses cast-off.
  10. The screw-threading although hard faced is quite fine, so it doesnt jam very often. Been using it 3 year now and its stalled the Fergie once couldnt find a shorter PTO (and wasnt buying a new one) so its never on linkage when being used.
  11. They do look it in pic but can assure you they arnt. Standard ag. tyres JCB dealer fits to all 520's. We put them on her when we bought her and apart for in sheds and 1 concrete pad at doorway she lives on hardcore and mud so theres very little wear. Neighbour has a JD handler and ok it lifts 1tonne more, and reaches 2meters farther as the JCB but its like 3 times the size. Damned amazing what the 520 can do for its size! For those not in the know heres it parked beside a Ford 7740 (95hp) tractor.....
  12. Yup! I wasnt that fussed before we got it, was brother wanted one - i was happy with a loader tractor. Had it 3 years now and its been a brilliant purchase. Rubbish in fields though, as all handlers are. After this pic was taken i took it down small hill in field behind my cottage, put boom out over wall into garden and emptied bucket into my shed....... couldnt get handler back up to farm so had to get dad to come rescue me with tractor When the garden shed is past its best and i pull her down. The new one is getting put somewhere with better access!!
  13. Brother in law (welder/fabricator by trade) made this screw-type splitter. Pics maybe arnt the greatest. Even getting local machinist to lathe the left-hand thread on the cone it cost a grand total of £200. Works really well. We also made a hydraulic-ram/blade type splitter which i use, and looks very home made..... shall get a pic of it next time im using it.
  14. Just a wee load of logs for home..... bucket is 1.4m3 - but god knows how much its loaded with! Once you use a telehandler youl never use a loader again.
  15. Seriously, that size and price buy new and buy a Dolmar/Makita: NEW MAKITA DCS500-45 PETROL CHAINSAW 50CC 45CM BAR C/W GLOVES | eBay Ignore the fact thats on Ebay - its a local shop to me who is selling it - thats the price you should have to pay for it with 18" bar. (itl be abit cheaper without box & gloves) Neighbour has the older DCS520i, as does my brother-in-laws dad. Iv not long fell on with the equivelent Domar 115i, all on 18" bars. Lovely saws which will work hard all day doing firewood with no issues. I own a smaller Stihl ms210, and have used a friends 52cc Stihl (cant remember model at this time, but its around 3 years old) - they are great saws and if budget wasnt an issue id have nothing else. But, for the money and job you will be doing, the extra ££ for the Stihl (or Husky) is money wasted IMO. Why buy the Bugatti Veyron, when a VW Golf does the same job at a fraction of the price........
  16. I just bought an Oregon bar & chain for a Dolmar from Chainsaw Chains - New Saw Chains - Oregon & Carlton Chainsaw Saw Chain, Guide Bars, Oil & Accessories i ordered it end of day Wednesday it came through First class Royal Mail on the Friday morning. Click the link, on home page look the list down the left and click on the first option (chainsaw chains & guide bars), then click the first link below (find your saw model) then scroll down and click the Dolmar logo - itl give you all the info you need. Find your model and the chain & bar options and just buy which ones you want
  17. Have a look at this Makita DCS 9010 Chainsaw | eBay Not quite in the league of the 9010 but i run a Makita DCS6800i (and a Dolmar 115i). Iv got a Stihl also, and have had Huskys - the Makita/Dolmar is my first choice every time
  18. OK so iv gotten along well so far with the 115i, just 1 issue/question: The chainbrake guard isnt like the newer U-shaped hand guard mounted on both sides of cylinder. Its only mounted on one side. The clutch cover is differant too, and the newer chainbrake assembly doesnt look like it will fit in it and i cant find any referances to this type in any parts lists. The newer clutch cover does fit my saw though (tried the one off my brother in laws DCS520), so am going to buy a new one. Have decided to get a Dolmar red one instead of a Makita blue one. Randy Duncan from the USA has a complete clutch cover with full brakeband assembly listed on Ebay. The question is would there be any hidden charges like Importation TAX if i were to buy it? And how much would that cost me? At the moment, after converting currency and adding p&p the one in USA is actually cheaper as a new Makita one here in UK, but am fearing of tripping up with a hidden charge... Again, thanks in advance for any info given
  19. Would the crankshaft from the Dolmar PS-7900 on the link you gave me be the same as your DCS7901? They have a price, so youd be able to buy it there. (not sure how much 159.94 Euros is in £ though). I looked Miles Tool & Machinery Centre just to see and the crankshaft is listed, but theres no price - which means they dont carry it. Also looking the links seems these guys are running much the same price-wise. Good to know im not being screwed
  20. Familiar story. I bought the 115i off Ebay asked plenty questions as to condition etc and seller said it wasnt running right but would just need someone to look at it. Took carb off cleaned out and re-set it, she now runs brilliant..... but seller didnt mention apart for the brake lever, theres no brake band assembley in the clutch cover atall!! Theres also plenty of screws missing. Only thing he did admit to was no bar and chain, although he mustve found the bar, as there was a 15" Dolmar bar (and a very dodgy looking chain) in the box when it arrived. Cheers for the links - especially the one to Dolmar. Thank god the parts are all numbered..... my german is Schizer
  21. Hi all. Been coming onto this site for a while now - great font of information!! Iv accuired a Dolmar 115i - same as Makita DCS520 and DCS5200 which needs a list of parts. Local Makita dealer is now fecked up and just interested in online sales of new saws.... My other local routes to get parts dont have any breaker saws and are going to see what they can do for me (pricing up new parts) Was wondering if anyone knew of any suppliers online who do parts at reasonable prices? Iv used Miles Tool & Machinery Centre for my 6800i before, but theres some bits like rubber anti-vibration mounts etc they just dont supply. Ebay do have some parts, but most are new from the U.S. and are at inflated prices, due to postage. Thanks for any info given.
  22. Iv plenty of sawdust about the logging site - and always wondered about compressing and burning it on the fire. So how would i go about making a briquette?
  23. Makita will be the DCS 5030-45/5031-45. I cant see (and dont think there is) any differance apart for colour and badge, obviously. The Dolmar spec says its heavier though Both are pretty much same price aswell. My guess is one has a Heated handle
  24. Cheers - was mechanically sound when he bought it, just needed a full strip-down and put back to original. The trailer was ours from new, but completely rotten. This was the Fergie when he first bought it:
  25. Brother in laws restored Fergie and Marshall trailer, and my Valtra
