The harmful contents of petrol is why some new saws are being made with catalytic converters fitted, same as cars. I personally chose to have my new saw set up on Aspen before collecting and my Dad saw is using it from new.As after I get through all the trees on my and my parents land, it will be used mainly for firewood and stood idle for long periods. The main reason for me is it's stability over time and not damaging the rubber internals. The lack of any visible smoke or smell is a bonus. Figgy

Spill the beans then what make of fuel, and save us all a few quid. I've had a look online and Aspen is all that comes up other than Coleman stove fuel. Figgy

Hope you can help me. Being a large fella I need some chainsaw trousers in a 46" waist with large legs as in big thighs and arse and im 6'3" tall. Don't want to break the bank, they will be used for firewood logging. I've got some husqvarna zip up back of leg tregings type but the legs are to tight to zip up, a total pain to work in as I used cable ties to keep the back of legs together Looked online and Clark Forrest are advertising some big sizes but links on page not working. Thanks for any help. Figgy

Stihl and Husky bashing will commence, pop corn ready. Husky 550xp seem to get better reveiws on here than the troublesome 261 stihl. Figgy

With it being a carbide chain I thought it would only need honing,didn't think it would get mullered like a standard steel chain. Figgy

If you can get a diamond file the right size sharpening shouldn't be a problem. Read a post not long ago about round diamond stones for handheld electric chain sharpener. Figgy

They still use theese nut runner tools on the railways, one side has a flat to go on floor. Figgy

I had this on a chain I sharpened myself, but only for a few cuts till it blunted a bit. It was taking shavings out like you would expect off a plane just narrow in width. I thought it was the angle I had sharpened the cutter, a little to deep so the tooth was pulling its self into the wood and shaving instead of taking a chip out. Figgy

It's for a family member, I use a husky 365xt after advice off the lads on this forum. The reason for a 40cc saw is weight and price over say a husky 550xp. Figgy

Looking for the best price for the cs420es. Seen the abbey garden sales price, any of the knowledgable arbtalk folk know of a better deal. Looking for a good lightweight cheap general use home saw. Figgy

For electric power tools I use Makita. The 400mm bar version is what my dad is going to get for firewood. Even thinking of one myself for the smaller stuff to keep noise down,I'll use the Husky for big logs and keep small stuff to one side. Figgy

What size bar and chain combo for 365, as I understand after reading on net the 365 can be modded easily to make it rev faster turning it into a 372 xp if required. Figgy

As per title what would be your choice for cutting logs no real felling. My thinking 365xt is 70cc being run at slower revs with higher torque for heavy handedness on cut and should reliable for years and years. 560xp 60cc revs it's nuts off people love it, but seems temperamental. Nearest dealers are stihl husky people so will stick with one of these makes,and been told off two lads in dealers the husky 560xp is the daddy and one to go for, won't bog down and goes like a bat outa hell. So how does not putting a saw through big timber and taking it easy set the auto tune on new saws. I thought you had to put them straight into big timber full length of bar for first ten mins just to set the tune. Figgy

Have a look at the Dolmar 50cc saws TCD is importing £380 new inc warranty. Think this saw would be my choice.

Thanks woodworks that would be great. would 50cc be about the size of engine or bit bigger.
