  1. Well, we came out of our hotel this morning to find our 130 back window smashed and everything had been pulled out. On closer inspection our spare 361 (spare because it's been raided for parts and the rings are shot) has been stolen, but they left the satnav, 2 sets of copper earthing cables, climbing kits and a high lift jack. Thank god all the good saws are in the little van which was parked right outside the entrance! The toe rags who nicked it will be gutted when they find out it doesn't even work.
  2. Thanks for peoples replies. Now got things sorted.
  3. As stated I'm in need of someone with a portable mill capable of around 30-34 inch max cut to plank a larch in the Dumfries area. Customer will cover costs. Anyone available/ interested please pm me.
  4. 9:30 start. Two limbs off a Big beech. And crown lifted a yew. Tidied, stacked. Off to look at another job.

    Perfect vehicle for it.
  6. I'd hate to tally up all the lost man hours after doing that for a year!!
  7. I have to agree with Jon here on the maintenance point. I personally have a 300tdi 130 and our works 130 is a td5. 300 is easier and simpler to work on as no fancy electronics. The td5 has more top end power but doesn't like pulling things on low revs like the 300 can. Stick a vnt turbo and a bigger ic on a 300 though and it won't struggle too much to outdo a chipped td5. Jonny.
  8. Hi guys. In desperate need of the serial number for an oil filter for a Vermeer bc1250. Any help greatly appreciated.

  10. To be honest I'm not sure but I'd assume so. The hold up was down to waiting northern power to make the line dead.
  11. Northern power contract so government money rather than utility companies pockets.
  12. Vita non est vivere sed valere vita est. Life is more than just being alive.
  13. Turned up on site 8am, 9 dense spans of cat A trees to be felled/ reduced. 15 men on site from different subbies. Power didn't go off till 11:30 and everyone decided to go home at 3:30. Lots more felling and tidying up to do tomorrow.
  14. We have a 3002 and that is great especially with the tensioning arm on it allowing to lift up big stuff and lower things off with both ends tied on. Makes for interesting possibilities of pivoting branches on their way down.
  15. Why not just use the wolfs? We have 265/75/16 bfg km2's on wolfs on our works 130 tipper.
  16. Hi Rob. What's the dispatch date on the pre ordered bars? Cheers, Jonny.
  17. I have a mile marker h12 (12,000lbs) on my 130. Driven off the power steering pump. Two pipes and its on. Great winch.
  18. +1 again for airstreams and Gustharts. Top boots and top lads there to deal with.
  19. One stem left to deal with after dropping the first two and dragging it all out with the landrover this morning.
  20. I can see the brackets in the pic but was the mewp really needed? Looks like it could've been rigged quite nicely?!
  21. Looks like a nice fancy house! Nice doing big private jobs, something I miss since starting utility work. Mind most of our jobs are big rigging and dismantles so not too bad. Just the difference in personal profit at the end of the day that you notice most! Keep up the good work guys! Would be well interested in lending an extra pair of hands if you guys had any big weekend jobs you were short staffed on.
  22. You won't be disappointed with the 230 Chris. The turntable makes it very handy for roadside etc too as you don't need to be standing right near traffic. And I'm sure the 880 will serve you well, ours gets a hammering weekly and has never let us down. I need to get myself up to gustharts and get some bits for the 660 soon! Saw your stand at the Slaley show too but the girlfriend was dragging me round so didn't have a chance to come say hi! New Truck looks good. Much more purposefull than the old fuso.
  23. As the title suggests I'm looking to convert a 372xpg to run Stihl 3/8 .063 chain. Reason being that at work we have 2 stihl 362's and a 660 which all run on the same chain so have a roll and a maker and breaker so we can build new chains when we need them. Problems we are having so far is sourcing a bar for the 372. We can get one to run 404 chain but can't find anyone that can supply one to run 3/8 .063. Can anyone help???
