  1. Meh, that's a heap of steaming crap, niko, and you know it. 70cc is no flick and flit saw, it's for felling and cross cutting. The other size out I believe is a fair bit bigger? As in a replacement for a different saw...
  2. Oh, the fuel can, yes, I've heard rumours to why it's not been released, it's to do with new regs about fuel expansion. As for the power increase, niko, it's data from tests performed by husky Sweden. I have my contacts
  3. Yeah, but I'll be done quicker and be having my sandwiches with my husky
  4. Husky king!
  5. Stihl offer 1 year pro warranty, 2 for non-pro users. This is because a Stihl is usually shagged after the first year, everyone else offers 2 or more for a pro user
  6. Niko, it gives .1kW more power on a stock saw. Whilst the 560 and 562 have the same power rating, the 562 running gear is larger and heavier. There is no disadvantage to a high top! It's a few grams more, not enough to shift the centre of mass more than a mm or two. If you looked inside a 560/562 you'd realise how choked they are to meet emissions regs, the air filter alone would remove a tiny section of that problem.
  7. Not necessarily, I'd choose the ms150 over the husky 425 any day! And the 241 over the 543xp! It's just that I find Stihl homeowner saws heavily over priced! Especially when you can get the 135 for £40 less! That's a new bar and chain! Or a sugihara bar, which is better than any Stihl bar currently produced!
  8. I've felled a tree with an 090, if I was doing a woodland with one, I'd want a quad and trailer
  9. Husky 135 over the ms211 any day!
  10. 9t .325
  11. Huskys 'new' fuel is this magical stuff we refer to as aspen, with Stihl's launch of motomix in the UK, husky will just put the stuff they've been promoting for years in their own cans, as homeowners are more likely to use it (as it has the logo on). Having also seen the new husky catalog, there's no mention of the 572 yet... But that usually means an autumn launch!
  12. Stuff that, I'll be getting one the moment they hit the dealers!
  13. 2009 was the cut-off date for blue book, you'll have to be re-assessed now.
  14. Anyway, even if you don't think it'll improve power, my 560 says otherwise!

    372xp

Smaller husky to keep it company? 560xp!
  16. Anybody know how to disable the limiter? Have been felling on the highways tonight, ringing up an ash. It took a few minutes for the autotune to get its crap together. Goes like stink! But under 10" and the limiter kicks in (14.2k rpm), after that it drops to a manageable speed, about 15-18" and it drops to the usual 8-12k rpm. Not much fun having logs catapulted towards you though! I'm surprised how strong it runs, as I was quite conservative with the porting compared to the Americans, but I suppose that's because they're running 28". At least the autotune means I don't have to piss around with a tach!
  17. Yes, it's a big pipe, didn't look that big until I fitted it into the muffler it's all reassembled now, big filter fitted, the lot! Now to run it and see if I've cocked up, or made a belter!
  18. Apparently, from what I've heard from the Americans, it's a bigger 560
  19. Out of preference is go for a pre x-torq 372 XPG, the current 372, then the 576. Depending on how long you can wait, I reckon the 572 will be out soon enough.
  20. +1 for the 365, for reasons spud and Stubby have already said, and for the simple fact that should you have any problems, this is a well known saw that some of us can help you fix if you have problems.
  21. Yes Jon, see rough prices above
  22. As predicted, I own one, rang my local dealer today, the high-tops are now available for about £22. The air filter is around £17... Typical! I got stung by shipping and husky made it UK available!

    Cc or hp

No, you said 4.5hp, which could be a 560xp or an old 041 super (these are saws close to the weights you gave), the 560 pulls a smaller bar and goes like stink, the 041s pulls almost 30" bars.
  24. The magnum sticker was used to show the saw had a larger bore (cc) and a more free flowing muffler. Often it also had a larger Venturi carb and massive air filter too. Now it's used to show the saw has a free flowing muffler. The American magnum saws have a much better outlet size. This is now given the letter Z in the IPL's.

    Cc or hp

Yes, the lighter saw is more comfortable. But just by that question of piece work you've opened it up to more. Is it hard or softwood? Large or small diameter? Large hardwoods would require high torque and larger displacement, small softwoods would require a higher speed, but less power and torque.
