  1. I got a contra lightning, the damage was a spring had broke, thrown a shoe, which had broke the plate retaining the carrier, cracked the clutch drum, so I fitted an 070 clutch, which was about £40 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  2. The 090 clutch is bloody expensive! I got an aftermarket p&c to fit to my contra Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  3. Yup, ours (with all muffler parts still in) is louder than our chipper, tractor and other saws going too! They were built with one idea in mind, chop the tree with as much power as possible! But the decomp valve was a clever idea Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  4. Looks like somebody has given it a bash, causing the bark to separate and allow infection. Willows will still carry on growing despite being rotten inside Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  5. Wear ear defenders! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Running in?

Thrash it, thrash it hard! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  7. I have one, get a rim sprocket for it, get an 8t rim, undo the muffler, remove the spark arrestor and it'll roar and rip! To get the age, remove the recoil plate, the date is stamped on the inside, mines a '72 You can't get new AV rubbers, air filters are like rocking horse crap, and Oregon have obsoleted some of the bars Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. And then your 201 will stay in bits Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Same base, it's an 090 now only difference is the starter, dogs and how the cylinder attaches to the crank Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Bigger is better Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. My 090 will be better jon Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  12. Personally I'd run no more than a 4' bar, it's only 5cc bigger than a 395 Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  13. My 560 is wonderful, but I run aspen, run without the arrestor and an 8t .325 rim on 15". Only repair has been the oil pipe which split Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Dog tooth on a big tree Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. You're both on the one belay line, and the top anchor for us was just a large rope turned into a prussic loop, and it's if a person is injured whilst spiking with a flip line Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Oh dear, be warned, when I pulled the cylinder on the 009 all the big end bearings fell out! Little cylindrical jobbies that don't appear to be held in by anything! I know the 009/010/011 & 012 are essentially the same saw but with different handles, pistons and cylinders Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Aftermarket muffler and top cover arrived from china today, actually good quality stuff! The cover actually does direct air over the cylinder mike, now just waiting for the air filter from the uk, the carb to filter boot from Germany, and a gasket from stihl! Amazing how Chinese economy delivery is faster than 1st class from uk or Germany! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. In a nutshell, no, the original engine had a cover under the cover, and the 070/090 cover directs it to the air box Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  19. It's a long jaunt, but Ian Morgan in Staffordshire http://www.ianmorganarb.com/ Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. Well done! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. A piece of paper folded in half is what I use, or a business card. It's supposed to be .3mm Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Because without a form of friction hitch and pulley thing, on a pole there is very rarely a point you can fit an anchor to, and I wouldn't fancy carrying another person my weight down on one set of spikes and a wire-core, where as the belay means you can both decend quickly from a pole, as you can take it all pre-assembled on your harness during the rescue Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. The other person sets up the ground end of the belay, you just install the top end, it's a fairly simple set up and just as quick IMO as it allows a set anchor on a pole Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

    Husqvarna 50!

Check the switch, wires and connectors are all still together, if they are, get a can of wd40 degreaser and spray it into the switch, then just keep sliding it for a bit Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
