  1. Has anyone who how is using Invoice2go updated to the new design? I was happy with how it was before, and have been for the last 4 years. Now, since the new update, everything has changed. My main issue is with the custom template for invoices and quotes. It's messed me right up. Anyone else having issues?
  2. Fraxinus angustifolia spp. I recon, leaves look like they are opposite pairs.
  3. Got a set from Beechwood trees last year, fit them yourself with a little bit of customisation. I went for the low profile kit where the battery and control panel is separate. I have the battery tucked up on the inside of my climbing helmet with the wires hidden away to save them getting caught on branches. Control panel on the outside on the helmet. Great bits of kit making communication with the ground so much easier. Can also link your phone easily. Have held up well over the year, no issues yet. Battery life still good too. Well worth the investment in my opinion.
  4. Make sure there isn't any crud on the roller boxing. Take the springs off and lift the rollers to give it a good clean out, then cover in grease before lowering the rollers. Keeps everything moving freely. Blades- You should notice a difference in chipping, and definitely need to change if chip becomes stringy. Far more efficient with sharp blades.
  5. Yes it's English braid, 20mm
  6. No it's all still tight. Fairly recently loler'd.
  7. It's actually not as bad as I thought it was, it's just the whipping is becoming loose, will be a matter of time before it gets snagged. If it's doable by someone on Friday at the show that would be ideal.
  8. The whipping has become a little frayed and loose and could do replacing. I will get a pic later on
  9. Hi, Is anyone able to repair some whipping on a deadeye strop at the arb show on Friday?
  10. Thanks guys, So as of your guidance I have decided to scrap that plan as it will be worthless for me in terms of extra search engine publicity. My thoughts were to have a domain that would be regularly googled, but as you say, this has been sussed by the search engines and changed. I'm guessing then, the best way for optimising your search-ability is to keep it original? Do Adwords or other similar publicity really help? Any other things that can be done to increase searching success on search engines? Or is it about who pays the most, or who has the most traffic?
  11. Ok so if you have both domains you can get them to point to each other behind the scenes? "Abctrees" - name comes up when googled for company. When "abctrees" is clicked it changes name on website to "londontreecare" because that is the forwarding and masking address. "Londontreecare" comes up with search engine search but directs to "abctrees" - which then directs to "londontreecare" Am I correct or am I way off? Slightly confusing I know.
  12. Right this may not be possible but here goes... If your company is say "abctreecare" and you purchase a domain as "londontreecare" for Internet searching purposes. Is it possible to link them? As in if someone googles "abctreecare" it will come up with Buy Domains - Find a Premium Domain & Open Your Doors, BuyDomains.com Does this require an additional domain name to link them? Or can it be done on key words to tie one in to the other? I'm no computer techie so if you have any advice please try and keep it simple for me, if that's possible!! Thanks in advance.
  13. Thanks I will have a read through the standard. The drainage nearby runs into a soak-away which is apparently directly beneath the tree. That's where the idea of poisoning came from, with paint being poured into the soak-away drainage.
  14. Hi, Just wandering if anyone could recommend anything worth reading for tree root contamination. I have been to look at a willow tree which is in decline and the client has thought it to be down to the disposal of spirit based paints. I'm not sure but was interested to have a look into it. Thanks
  15. Had a job come up recently regarding the removal of a walnut tree in the back garden of a brand new development housing site. Although there were no tpos on the property, there was a landscape condition to retain all existing vegetation and trees covered in the landscape scheme for 5 years. The TO informed me that they would be serving a TPO notice if it was to be removed. It did make me wander why they didn't just put a TPO on it before the development. Although I didn't take this any further, the ground levels had been raised considerably to level off the garden and would likely cause issues with the tree in later years, which goes to show there was no consideration for the RPA. What's the point of having conditions if things like this happen without remedial action.
  16. Hi, Had an email today from a company called business grants saying that they can offer funding grants. Usually this type of email gets put into junk straight away but this almost seemed a legit company. I'm not intending on doing anything with them, but wanted to know if anyone else had heard from them or in fact actually received anything in terms of funding. Or course I know you can't get something for nothing, and scammers are getting pretty high-tech these days, but the fact I've given it a second look made me wonder. Cheers
  17. I understand your point about it not being viable to serve a TPO on all newly planted trees but what about existing trees? Where I assume trees of a lower value have been removed to enable development, and the higher scoring trees retained, in this case, there are only a handful of semi mature and mature trees that have been retained. Why not TPO them if they are important for the landscape value? So once the 5 year maintenance/retention time is up, someone can remove the trees as long as they still don't have an order on them?
  18. Hi, Just thought I'd try and get some more information on this matter... Where a new development site has been built, and the landscaping completed, the existing vegetation and trees are then protected for (x) amount of time according to the planning. Surely, where a tree is to be retained for (x) amount of time, it can only be retained or conditions to what can be done in terms of pruning work if the tree has a TPO? ...Or once the (x) time is up, and the tree hasn't been TPOd it could potentially be removed? If this is the case, why not put a TPO on it at the development stage to permanently retain it?
  19. Anyone got an ifor Williams type canopy to fit a 2005 l200 mrk 3/4 they want to sell?
  20. Thanks for the replies, Did you find your insurance covered them or did you have to amend it?
  21. Hi, I'm looking for some advice on what should be in place for taking on someone for a week on work experience. The student is under 16 years, so I'm assuming employers liability may not cover "young persons" Apart from the obvious RAMS and providing ppe, what else needs to be done/covered? Thanks
  22. Can't remember if it's right but remember hearing something about 1" per year to dry?
  23. Thanks, so 2 years from when cut into boards? And I'm assuming best left stacked and covered fully? Leave ends open?
  24. Hi, Looking for some advice on some yew boards that I milled today. The stick has been down for about 2 years or so. I'm aware that it won't be able to dry fully until it's boarded, but now milled into 2.5" boards, how long should I let it dry in the open for before working with it? It's stacked with spacers in a woodland. Should I still seal the ends to assist in drying? Any tips or advice appreciated Thanks
