  4. Good choice! I've just bout a 661 as my larger saw, decision was mainly made in the £130 price difference. It is heavy with 25" bar, so think ill get a 20" for every day stuff. Monster saw though, love it. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

  13. Got to be worth at least £150 for truck and chipper plus your wages for the day. Id say the £250 mark for one man, truck and chipper is a fair price. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  14. Hi All, We've out grown our yard, and its also a bit far out as all my work seems to have migrated closer to home! Im looking for a 20ft container or secure small holding, ideally in the tring/berkhamsted general area. Gated/secure location would also be ideal. If you have or know of anywhere, I would appreciate it if you could PM or text me (07826 528156), as I would rather not advertise location of yard. also if anyone has chip tip sites locally, always handy to have extra contacts. Thanks All
  15. Exactly that, that's the issue, it's just too tempting to grab something with one hand and cut away with the other, leaving the holding hand (normally the left) open to strikes from the chain. My point is simply that anyone advising a beginner to buy a top handle chainsaw for both aerial and ground use is at best unprofessional. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  16. Ah that's where Ive been going wrong!? Really!? I had no idea. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  17. Mate of mine bought a 201t purely for cutting up logs after I told him to just buy a rear handle saw...... Well ill see if I can find the pictures of the back if his hand, should be enough to prove HS point why too handle saws are dangerous if used incorrectly on the ground. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  18. Went to quote for the lady today, she made out like it was a ton of work! £50 worth of hedge cutting if that! I was walked around her tiny garden for 10 minutes being questioned on the ID of every tree, shrub and flower! Which I begrudgingly did, when we finally finished I gave my price (amazingly no quibble!) to then be asked if I would carry her bins round the front on my way out!!!!! To turn up or not to turn up!? 19. Why did I look at this thread Feel like the only kid on the block who can't afford the latest craze!! Going to sulk, drink beer, and dream ill wake up with enough money in the bank!! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  20. I would love to try something like this out, sure would be better than trying to yell "get out the way" at my groundie louder than the chipper! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  21. Stanley here as well! Hot water flask and good thermos, mainly use my food one for soup in winter Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Quite right, and I wouldn't ever turn it away. But at the same time, I would never call a tradesman at 8.15pm! And start ordering him about ! Still, will be some expensive hedge cutting ! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Haha there is that ! And I'm always grateful if any enquiry. Not so much as a "sorry it's a bit late!" Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  24. It drives me barmey! People calling the work phone up untill 9pm! Its got to the point where Ive taken out a second contract for personal use, and switch off the work phone at 7pm. Problem solved..... Untill I flailed my personal phone! Just 5 minutes ago, phone rings. Made the mistake of answering it! The most demanding woman, who wanted me to came and carry out the work she needed doing tomorrow!? How much was it going to be when I haven't even seen it!? When I said we couldn't do it for at least a week, and that I needed to see it first I was bombarded with more questions! Why would there be more than one person on site! How long would I guess it would take etc etc. Rant over, thanks for listening! Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
